The Ubiquiti UniFi Retrofit Hub (UA-Retrofit-Hub-2) is an indoor access-control hub for managing up to two doors through UniFi Access. It supports Wiegand and OSDP readers, but requires a suitable separately purchased DC supply, compatible management installation, and separately selected readers and locks.

Best For: For an indoor installation adding access control to up to two doors, where a compatible UniFi Access management installation and separately selected readers, locks and suitable DC power are arranged.
Before you order: This is a hub, not a reader or complete access kit. A suitable 12/24 V DC supply is sold separately, as are readers and electric locks; an appropriately designed Access installation is required. The hub is indoor-only and is not PoE-powered. Check each lock's voltage/current requirements and cable distance against wire gauge and load; the stated limits are not a combined accessory power budget.

What It Means in Practice

  • Plan for a suitable external 12/24 V DC supply; the hub is not PoE-powered, and the supply is sold separately.
  • Choose readers and locks separately and confirm their interface and electrical requirements; Wiegand and OSDP support does not guarantee compatibility with every third-party reader.
  • Cable-distance limits vary with connected load and wire gauge. For example, the specified 152.4 m limit applies to a 250 mA UA-Retrofit-Reader with 18 AWG UACC cable, not to locks.

  • Indoor use only; operating range is -10 to 40 °C with 5–90% non-condensing humidity.
  • Requires a suitable external 12/24 V DC supply, sold separately; PoE input is not established.
  • Readers, electric locks, exit buttons, sensors, network cable, gateway/controller and switch are not included and may be required for the installation.
  • Two Ethernet ports are 10/100 MbE, not Gigabit.
  • Relay and power-output ratings are specific to each output: dry lock/AUX relays 30 V DC up to 1 A each; powered lock output 12 V DC up to 1 A or 24 V DC up to 0.5 A; reader output 12 V DC up to 0.5 A. These are not a shared total budget.
  • Cable-distance limits depend on load and wire gauge; there is no universal maximum cable length. The 250 mA reader example must not be applied to locks.
