The Ubiquiti UACC-DAC-QSFP28-3M is a 3 m direct attach copper cable with a QSFP28 plug moulded onto each end, carrying 100G or 40G between two ports. It is the simplest way to join UniFi aggregation switches, gateways and servers that sit in the same rack or the next one, with no optics to buy and nothing to clean. In practice, a DAC is the cheapest way to join two switches that sit next to each other.

Compatibility — check before buying:
It fits QSFP28 and QSFP+ ports only — not SFP+ or SFP28 ports — and it is a straight QSFP28-to-QSFP28 cable, not a breakout to four SFP ports. Both ends must run the same speed. At 3 m the cable is 8.9 mm thick with a 47 mm minimum bend radius, so plan cable management in tight racks. Not sure? Send us your device model and the cable run and we check it before you order.

Does it work at 40G?
Yes. Ubiquiti lists 100 and 40 Gbps, and compatibility with QSFP28 and QSFP+ interfaces. Both ports must run the same speed.
Is it passive or active?
Ubiquiti does not publish this for the UACC-DAC-QSFP28. What matters for ordering is the length, the port type and the speed, which are shown above.
Is anything else needed to make the link?
Nothing. Both QSFP28 ends are part of the cable; plug one end into each port. Both ports must run the same speed, 100G or 40G.
Will it work in a switch from another brand?
