Ubiquiti UniFi Protect AI Horn Speaker — Outdoor PoE+ Horn Speaker, 120 dB, White
UniFi Protect120 dB SPLPoE+ poweredIP66 outdoor
The Ubiquiti UniFi Protect AI Horn Speaker (UP-AI-Horn-Speaker-W, white) is an all-weather PoE+ horn speaker that plays loud spoken warnings when your UniFi Protect cameras detect a person or vehicle. It is built for car parks, yards, warehouses, building perimeters and construction sites where a voice warning stops trouble before it starts.
You type a message in UniFi Protect and the speaker reads it out at up to 120 dB using text-to-speech, or you play a pre-recorded message. Ubiquiti adds on-board Edge AI commentary that reacts to Protect events as they happen. The speaker takes its power and data from one network cable and mounts on a wall or pole with the articulating mount supplied.
Before you order: This speaker works inside the UniFi ecosystem: it needs a UniFi console running UniFi Protect and a PoE+ switch port or injector. It is not a generic SIP or PA speaker.
What's in the Box
- 1 × UniFi Protect AI Horn Speaker, white
- Articulating wall / pole mount
- Ubiquiti does not publish a detailed in-box list as text; the PoE source and network cable are not part of the speaker
What It Means in Practice
- When a camera detects someone after hours, the speaker can say a custom warning aloud, which is far more effective than a siren that people learn to ignore.
- Messages are set up in the UniFi Protect app or web interface, so you manage cameras and audio deterrence from the same place.
- One outdoor Cat cable carries power and data; plan a PoE+ port for each speaker.
- The 120 dB output carries across a car park or yard, so one speaker can cover an area that would need several small speakers.
What Will Not Work
- It will not work without a UniFi console running UniFi Protect; it is not designed for third-party VMS or SIP phone systems.
- Standard PoE (802.3af) is not enough. It needs PoE+ (max consumption 14.3 W).
- It is a one-way announcement speaker, not an intercom: there is no microphone for talk-back.
- The network port is 10/100 Mbit/s; it does not pass data on to other devices.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it talk back to a visitor?
No. It is a one-way speaker for warnings and announcements. For two-way talk, ask us about UniFi intercom products.
What powers it?
A PoE+ switch port or PoE+ injector. If your UniFi switch has only standard PoE ports, we can suggest a PoE+ model or injector.
Does it need internet?
Configuration runs through UniFi Protect on your console. Ubiquiti states recorded messages play even when offline.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Audio deterrence works because people react to a voice that clearly addresses them. Place the horn where it covers the approach that cameras already watch, and keep messages short and specific. Each speaker needs a PoE+ port; if your existing switch is short of ports, see our
network switches for PoE+ models.
✓ Buy it if you run UniFi Protect cameras outdoors and want automatic spoken warnings on detection.
✕ Skip it if you do not have a UniFi console, need SIP paging, or need two-way talk.
→ Also consider a PoE+ switch, outdoor patch cables and Ethernet surge protection for long outdoor runs.
Not sure your UniFi setup supports it? Send us your console model and Protect version and we will check before you order.
