The Ultron save-E E27 10W (138119) is a dimmable LED bulb that replaces a 60 W incandescent in any standard E27 lamp holder, giving 810 lumens of 3000K warm white light for homes, offices, reception areas and hospitality spaces.

Ultron rates it for 25,000 hours and 15,000 switching cycles, and states an energy saving of more than 80% compared with the bulb it replaces. Because it is dimmable, the same bulb can give full brightness for work and a softer level in the evening — as long as the wall dimmer is one that handles LED loads.

• A like-for-like swap for a classic 60 W bulb: 810 lm is the brightness people expect from 60 W, at one sixth of the power.
• 3000K warm white gives a soft, slightly yellow tone that suits living spaces, meeting rooms, hotels and restaurants; for workshops, stores or task lighting a 4000K neutral white is usually the better choice.
• At 25,000 hours the bulb lasts around 8.5 years at 8 hours a day, which cuts replacement trips in high ceilings and hard-to-reach fittings.
• The 130° beam spreads light widely, so it works well in pendants, table lamps and ceiling fittings with open shades.
• With a suitable dimmer, one bulb covers both bright work lighting and lower evening lighting in the same room.

• It will not fit E14 (small screw), B22 (bayonet) or GU10 sockets — check the base of your current bulb first.
• It is not a smart bulb: there is no Wi-Fi, app or voice control — brightness is set by the wall dimmer only.
• It is not a colour-changing or tunable-white bulb — the colour stays at 3000K warm white at every dimming level.
• Very compact or enclosed shades must take a bulb of 118 × 60 mm (length × diameter) — measure if space is tight.
