Verbatim Store ’n’ Stay NANO 64 GB — 18 mm, 3 Grams, Stays Put
64 GB80 MB/s read / 25 MB/s write18 x 16 x 7.8 mm, 3 gAbout 5 mm protrudes
The Verbatim Store ’n’ Stay NANO, article 98711, is a 64 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive measuring just 18 x 16 x 7.8 mm and weighing about 3 g. Verbatim states that only around 5 mm protrudes when it is seated in a USB-A port, which is the whole point: it is designed to be left permanently in a laptop, a car head unit or a TV. It publishes both speeds — up to 80 MB/s read and up to 25 MB/s write.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a USB Type-A drive, so it does not fit a phone or a USB-C-only laptop without an adapter, which is not supplied. Two things to weigh before buying a nano drive. Because almost nothing protrudes, there is no keyring loop and nothing to grip — pulling it out of a recessed port takes a fingernail, and Verbatim publishes no attachment point. It is the right shape for a drive you install and forget, and the wrong shape for one you move between machines every day. Second, the family is three consecutive article numbers: 98709 is 16 GB, 98710 is 32 GB and 98711 is this 64 GB. They are identical in appearance, so check the number. Note also that Verbatim does not publish a colour for this article on its European page — our listing follows the supplier data in describing it as blue — and does not publish the supplied file system.
Best For
✓ Leaving permanently in a laptop, car head unit, TV or games console
✓ Expanding storage on a machine where a full-size stick would stick out and snap
✓ A media library in a car that is never removed
✓ A discreet drive that does not advertise its presence
✓ Anyone who has already broken a protruding stick in a laptop bag
✓ Buyers who want both speeds published on a nano drive
Key Features
About 5 mm protrudes
Verbatim states that only around 5 mm of the drive sits outside the port. There is nothing to catch on a bag, nothing to snap off sideways, and nothing to notice.
80 read, 25 write — both published
Unusual for a nano drive, and unusual for Verbatim, which publishes nothing at all for several of its other lines. You know what you are getting before you buy.
3 grams
18 x 16 x 7.8 mm and about 3 g — among the smallest full-capacity drives on the shelf, and light enough that it puts no strain on the port.
Nothing to lose
No cap, no slider, no moving parts. It is a solid stub that goes in once and stays there.

Singular Expert Insight
Nano drives solve one problem well: they turn a USB port into permanent extra storage without anything sticking out to be snapped off. This one does it at 3 grams with about 5 mm showing, and unlike most drives of this shape Verbatim actually publishes what it does — 80 read and 25 write, the same as its full-size sticks. That is the honest case for it. The honest case against is equally simple: with nothing protruding and no keyring loop, it is awkward to remove and easy to forget you own. Buy it for the laptop, the car or the TV, not for your pocket. For a drive you carry, the conventional models in our USB flash drives range make more sense, and for files you work from rather than store, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want permanent extra storage in a laptop, car or TV port with almost nothing protruding, and 80 MB/s read with a published 25 MB/s write covers what you put on it.
Skip it if
You will move the drive between machines regularly — there is nothing to grip and no keyring loop. Or you need a USB-C connector.
