The WEDO Safety Cutter PROFI PLUS, article 78850, is the version of WEDO’s metal safety cutter that lets you choose how the blade behaves. In its default mode the spring-loaded 19 mm trapezoid blade retracts automatically the instant it loses contact with the material; flip the switch and it changes to a locking multi-stop mode where the blade stays out for long continuous cuts. Five spare blades live in a magazine built into the handle, blade changing needs no tools, and an integrated cord cutter deals with strapping and string without deploying the main blade at all. It is TÜV/GS approved and measures about 180 x 45 x 30 mm at 220 g. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Understand the two modes before choosing between the siblings. In automatic mode the blade cannot stay exposed, which is what most warehouse safety policies want; in multi-stop mode it locks out, which is what long cuts through film or board need — but the safety benefit is suspended while it is locked. If you want the blade to be incapable of staying out, take the PROFI 78845 instead, which also adds a three-position depth wheel at 9, 15 and 25 mm that this model does not have. The lever-operated Safety Cutter Plus 837 (78837) is a different tool class again and ships with no spare blades. Blade changing is tool-free but still a blade — keep spares away from children. WEDO publishes no list of materials this cutter is rated to cut.

Key Features
Two modes from one switch
By default the blade is spring-loaded and retracts as soon as it leaves the material, which is the behaviour that prevents the injuries that happen between cuts. Switch the cutter to multi-stop and the blade locks in position for a long, continuous cut. You choose the mode per job rather than owning two cutters.
Spare blades in the handle
Five trapezoid spare blades are supplied in a magazine integrated into the handle, so a fresh blade is always on the tool rather than in a drawer somewhere. Blade changes are made without tools, which is what makes people actually change a blunt blade instead of pressing harder with it.
Integrated cord cutter
A separate cord cutter is built into the body for strapping, string and tape. That means the most common quick cut of the day is made without deploying the main blade at all — the safest cut is the one where the blade never comes out.
Metal body, ambidextrous, TÜV/GS approved
The handle is metal with a rubberised grip zone and the actuating slider sits on the back, so left- and right-handed users work identically. The blade is a standard 19 mm trapezoid with up to 25 mm of extension, and the cutter carries TÜV/GS approval. It measures about 180 x 45 x 30 mm and weighs 220 g.
