Wera 8011 Zyklop Mini 4 — a 36 g bit ratchet with a 6° return angle

60 teeth, 6° return angle1/4″ hex bit take-upDrop-forged full steel36 g

The Wera 8011 Zyklop Mini 4 is a pocket-sized bit ratchet: a drop-forged full-steel body that takes 1/4″ hexagon bits directly, with 60 teeth giving a 6 degree return angle. That fine toothing is the whole argument for it — six degrees is roughly the swing you can manage between a bracket and a wall, and it is what lets the tool keep working where a coarser ratchet simply locks up. A knurled thumbwheel lets you spin the bit quickly once the fastener is free, and switching between clockwise and counter-clockwise is a single movement. At 36 g and 50 mm it lives in a pocket rather than a toolbox. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a bit ratchet, not a socket ratchet. The take-up accepts 1/4″ hexagon bits directly, to DIN ISO 1173-C 6.3 and E 6.3 as well as Wera connection series 1 and 4. To drive 1/4″ sockets you need the separate Wera 870/1 adaptor, which is not supplied. No bits and no case are included — the ratchet is sold on its own. Wera publishes no maximum torque figure for this article, so we do not quote one; treat it as a fine-access tool for small fasteners rather than a breaker.

Best For

✓ Electronics, appliance and precision assembly
✓ Confined spaces with only a few degrees of swing
✓ Carrying in a pocket or a small service kit
✓ Anywhere a full-size ratchet cannot be turned

Key Features

60 teeth, 6 degree return angle
Fine toothing is what makes a small ratchet useful. Six degrees of swing is enough to engage the next tooth in a gap where a coarse 15 or 20 degree ratchet would have nowhere to go and would need to be lifted off the fastener each time.

Takes bits directly, no holder needed
The 1/4″ hexagon take-up accepts standard bits to DIN ISO 1173-C 6.3 and E 6.3 plus Wera connection series 1 and 4, so it works with bits you already own and there is no adaptor in the chain to add length.

Drop-forged full steel
The body is drop-forged full-steel construction rather than a cast or assembled housing. On a tool this small that is what keeps the mechanism intact when you inevitably apply more force than you meant to.

Knurled thumbwheel for fast running
Once the fastener is loose, the knurled wheel lets you spin the bit with a fingertip instead of ratcheting it out a few degrees at a time. Direction switching is a single, unambiguous movement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it take sockets or bits?
Bits, directly. The take-up is 1/4 inch hexagon for standard bits. If you want to drive 1/4″ sockets with it, Wera makes the 870/1 adaptor for that purpose, but it is a separate accessory and is not included here.
What does a 6 degree return angle actually mean?
It is the smallest arc you need to swing before the ratchet engages the next tooth. A common ratchet needs 15 to 20 degrees; this one needs 6. In a tight recess that is often the difference between turning the screw and not being able to use a ratchet at all.
How much torque will it take?
Wera does not publish a maximum torque figure for this article, so we will not invent one. It is a fine-access tool built for small fasteners in confined spaces, not a substitute for a full-size ratchet on stubborn bolts.
Are any bits supplied with it?
No. The ratchet is sold on its own, with no bits and no case. It accepts any standard 1/4 inch hexagon bit, so anything already in your kit will fit.
Singular Expert Insight
The specification that matters on a small ratchet is not its size but its return angle, and 6 degrees is genuinely fine. Most of the situations where you reach for a mini ratchet are ones where you have a couple of centimetres of swing at best — inside a housing, between a bracket and a panel, behind a fixed component — and a coarse ratchet in that position is no better than a fixed driver. The 8011 keeps engaging. Two practical notes: it takes bits, not sockets, and it weighs 36 g, so it will live in a pocket or a small service kit rather than a drawer. Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You work in confined spaces on small fasteners and need a ratchet that still engages with only a few degrees of swing, using the 1/4″ bits you already carry.

Skip it if

You need to drive sockets straight away without buying the 870/1 adaptor, you want bits or a case included, or the job needs a published torque rating and real breaking force.

Also consider

The Wera 870/1 adaptor if you want to drive 1/4″ sockets with it, a Bit-Check assortment to feed it, or a full-size Zyklop ratchet for higher-torque work.
