Wera Kraftform Kompakt Stubby Magazine RA 4 — 6 Bits

Stubby Ratchet Driver9° Return AngleSwivelling Bit MagazineRing Switch with 0 Position

The Kraftform Kompakt Stubby magazine RA 4 is a ratcheting bit driver with no blade at all: the bit mounts straight into the head, so the whole tool is short enough to work where nothing longer will fit. Six bits — Phillips PH 1 and PH 2, slotted 1 x 5.5 and 1.2 x 6.5, and Square-Plus #1 and #2 — live in a swivelling magazine built into the handle. A fine-toothed ratchet gives a 9° return angle, and the ring switch works the way you expect: turn it clockwise for clockwise driving, the other way to reverse, or set it to 0 to deactivate the ratchet and drive rigidly. A strong permanent magnet holds the bit in the short mount. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Wera counts only the six bits — the handle, ratchet and magazine are the carrier tool and are not in the count. Because there is no blade, the tool cannot reach a recessed fastener at all: it is a short-access driver, not a general one. Profile coverage is Phillips, slotted and Square-Plus only — no TORX and no hex. The magazine holds exactly six, so it is full as supplied. Not insulated, not VDE-approved, not impact-rated. Check the article number when comparing prices: the older 05008886001 has the same product name but is discontinued; this is the current version, EAN 4013288233950, 155 g.

Best For

✓ Cabinets, engine bays and appliance interiors
✓ Work where a normal driver cannot be swung
✓ Bag and toolbox carry
✓ Square-Plus and Robertson hardware

Key Features

No Blade, Maximum Short Access
The bit mounts directly in the head, so the tool is as short as a ratcheting driver can be. That is the entire design brief — it goes where a driver with any blade at all cannot enter.

Swivelling Six-Bit Magazine
A magazine built into the handle swivels open to give the six bits and holds them securely when closed, so the driver arrives complete with nothing loose to lose in a cabinet.

Ring Switch with a 0 Position
Turn the ring clockwise and the ratchet drives clockwise; turn it the other way and it reverses. The 0 position deactivates the ratchet so the tool works rigidly for precise work and final tightening.

9 Degree Return Angle
A fine-toothed ratchet needing only a 9° swing to pick up the next tooth, plus free spinning when the screw offers no resistance — which matters most in exactly the cramped spaces this tool is made for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it six pieces or seven?
Six. Wera counts only the bits; the ratcheting handle with its magazine is the carrier tool and is not in the headline figure. Note that Wera is not consistent about this — on the Kompakt 27 XL SHK 1 the screwdriver is counted.
Why is there no blade?
Because the point of the tool is short access. The bit mounts straight into the head, making it as compact as a ratcheting driver can be. The trade-off is that it cannot reach anything down a recess.
What is Square-Plus?
Wera name for the square (Robertson-type) drive, standard on North American and Canadian hardware. This tool carries #1 and #2.
I have seen this product with a different article number. Which is current?
This one. Article 05008893001, EAN 4013288233950, 155 g is the current version. The older 05008886001 carries the same product name but is discontinued, and several retailers still list it.
Singular Expert Insight
There is a specific job this tool exists for: the screw you can see, can reach with a fingertip, and cannot get any normal driver onto. No blade at all is an unusual answer and it works, but be honest about the cost — anything down a recess is out of reach entirely, so this lives alongside a normal driver rather than replacing one. The 0 position is worth knowing about too: in a tight space a ratchet is fast, but the last quarter turn is better done rigid. Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You regularly meet screws in spaces too tight for a normal driver and want a ratchet with six bits stored inside it.

Skip it if

You need to reach recessed fasteners, want TORX or hex bits, or need a torsion zone or an impact rating.

Also consider
