Wera Tool-Check Modular L-Keys Hex-Plus 1 — seven hex keys in a 115 mm module

7 keys, 1.5 – 6 mmHex-Plus on 2 – 6 mm9549 adapter includedWorks standalone or clipped on

The Wera Tool-Check Modular L-Keys Hex-Plus 1 is seven metric hex keys held in a compact plastic module measuring 115 x 60 x 25 mm. It works perfectly well on its own — nothing else is required to use it — but it is also part of Wera’s Tool-Check Modular system, and the rigid 9549 adapter is included in the box so you can bolt it onto another Tool-Check Modular product and carry them as one unit. The keys run 1.5 to 6 mm, chrome-plated with laser-engraved size markings, and the 2 to 6 mm sizes use Wera’s Hex-Plus profile. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Two points worth being precise about. First, the 1.5 mm key is a conventional hexagon, not Hex-Plus — Wera flags this in a footnote on both its English and German datasheets, even though the product name says Hex-Plus. The 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm keys are Hex-Plus. Second, the keys have no ball end, so they need a reasonably square approach to the screw. On the system side: the 9549 rigid adapter is included, but the flexible 9550 hinge and any other Tool-Check Modular modules are sold separately. The “7 pieces” count covers the seven keys only — the adapter and the module holder are in the box but are not counted.

Best For

✓ Carrying a full small hex range in minimal space
✓ Building up a Tool-Check Modular kit
✓ Furniture, bike and equipment assembly
✓ Toolbags where a loose L-key set always scatters

Key Features

Hex-Plus on 2 to 6 mm
The Hex-Plus profile gives a larger contact surface inside the screw head, which reduces the notch effect at the corners. That is where hexagon drives normally fail, and it is why a rounded-out socket head screw is so much rarer with these.

Seven keys held in one module
Keys sit in a plastic module frame rather than loose on a ring or in a pouch. Nothing rattles out, nothing goes missing, and the whole set is 115 x 60 x 25 mm and 125 g — smaller than most folded key sets.

9549 rigid adapter in the box
The adapter is Wera’s rigid connector for joining Tool-Check Modular products into a single block. If you already own another module, this one bolts straight onto it; if you do not, you can simply ignore the adapter and use the module as it comes.

Chrome-plated with laser-engraved sizes
Chrome plating for surface protection and long service life, and the size markings are laser-engraved rather than printed, so they survive the wear that erases a stamped or painted size within months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy a Tool-Check Modular carrier to use this?
No. The module is self-contained and works exactly as it comes — there is no case, handle or carrier to buy. The Tool-Check Modular system is optional: the included 9549 adapter lets you join this module rigidly to another one if you own one.
Are all seven keys Hex-Plus?
No. The 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm keys are Hex-Plus. The 1.5 mm key is a conventional hexagon, which Wera states in a footnote on both its English and German datasheets despite the Hex-Plus in the product name.
Do the keys have ball ends?
No. These are plain L-keys with no spherical drive on the long arm, so you need a reasonably square approach to the screw. If angled access matters, look at a 950-series set with a ball end instead.
Is the holder counted in the 7 pieces?
No. The seven are the keys. The module holder and the 9549 adapter are both in the box but neither is counted — the arithmetic bears it out, since the keys and adapter total about 70 g of the 125 g set weight.
Singular Expert Insight
Hex keys are the tools most likely to be somewhere other than where you left them, which is the real argument for a module like this over a loose set. Everything is in one frame, it is smaller than a folding set, and it does not need a pouch. The Hex-Plus profile is the substantive part: a conventional hex key loads the six corners of the socket and eventually rounds them, while Hex-Plus spreads contact across the flats. Two honest limitations — no ball ends, so angled access is out, and the 1.5 mm key is plain hex despite the name. Browse our range in Cable Tools & Testers, or the wider Cables section for installation kit.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want a full 1.5 to 6 mm metric hex range in the smallest sensible package, with Hex-Plus protecting your socket head screws, and you may build up a Tool-Check Modular kit later.

Skip it if

You need ball ends for angled access, sizes above 6 mm or imperial keys, or you want colour-coded keys you can pick by sight.

Also consider

A Wera 950-series L-key set if you need ball ends and colour coding, other Tool-Check Modular modules to build up a kit, or the 9550 flexible hinge to link modules that need to fold.
