Xerox 008R12990 Genuine Waste Toner Container — Xerox Color, DocuColor, PrimeLink, WorkCentre
Genuine Xerox partUp to 50,000 pagesProduction colour platformCustomer-replaceable
The Xerox 008R12990 is the genuine waste toner container for the Xerox Color, DocuColor, PrimeLink and WorkCentre production colour platform, rated by Xerox for up to 50,000 pages. It collects the excess toner the imaging system purges during printing and its internal cleaning cycles, so the machine keeps producing clean pages instead of stopping with a full-container message. Xerox lists it under part number 008R12990 as a routine maintenance item. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Fits the Xerox Color, DocuColor, PrimeLink and WorkCentre production colour platform. Xerox also names the Versant press family on this part page but does not publish the individual Versant models, so confirm your exact press before ordering if you run a Versant. This item is not a print cartridge and contains no printable toner — if you need toner, order the toner for your specific machine, for example 006R01655 black on the Color C60 and C70, or 006R01799 black on the PrimeLink C9065 and C9070 instead. Always check the part number printed on the container you are removing before you order.
Key Features
Keeps the machine printing
Every laser engine purges residual toner after pages and after each internal cleaning cycle. This sealed container captures it so waste never reaches the paper path. When the machine reports that the container is nearly full, fitting a fresh 008R12990 clears the message and printing continues.
Genuine Xerox, matched to the engine
Specified by Xerox for the Xerox Color, DocuColor, PrimeLink and WorkCentre production colour platform, with the capacity and fill-detection behaviour the firmware expects. That keeps the fill-level warnings accurate and avoids the mis-reads and internal toner leaks that non-genuine containers can introduce.
Rated for up to 50,000 pages
Xerox rates this container at up to 50,000 pages, so it normally spans several print-cartridge changes. On this production platform the black drum cartridge 013R00663 is rated at 190,000 pages and the colour drum 013R00664 at 85,000, so the waste container is the most frequently replaced of the customer-replaceable items.
Fitted in seconds, no engineer needed
It is a Customer Replaceable Unit, so replacement is a front-panel-guided, tool-free job any office user can do. Xerox also operates a supplies take-back and recycling programme for used units, although availability varies by region.

Singular Expert Insight
On a production colour press or a departmental machine at this level, a full waste container stops the job, and jobs at this volume are rarely ones you can pause. Because Xerox rates it at up to 50,000 pages while the print cartridges are consumed far faster, one container covers many cartridge changes — which is exactly why its warning tends to arrive unexpectedly. Keeping a spare 008R12990 beside your genuine Xerox toner is inexpensive insurance against a stopped machine. If you are specifying the hardware itself, these models sit in our laser multifunction printers range. We would not recommend a third-party container here: the saving is small, and a mis-read fill sensor or a leak inside the engine costs far more than the part.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You run the Xerox Color, DocuColor, PrimeLink and WorkCentre production colour platform and the control panel is warning that the waste toner container is nearly full, or you simply want a spare on the shelf. At up to 50,000 pages this is a rare purchase that prevents an unplanned stop.
Skip it if
You actually need toner to print — order the toner for your specific machine, for example 006R01655 black on the Color C60 and C70, or 006R01799 black on the PrimeLink C9065 and C9070 instead. Also skip it if your machine is not in the list above, because Xerox waste containers are not interchangeable between printer families.
Also consider
The black drum cartridge 013R00663 (190,000 pages) and the colour drum 013R00664 (85,000 pages), plus a full toner set for your exact machine. If you need a fuser module, 008R13065 is the 220V CRU rated at 200,000 pages — the correct version for Cyprus, never the 110V 008R13102.
