The Yealink WH64 Dual UC, order code 1208673, is a hybrid wireless headset: DECT from the WHB640 base for range and reliability at the desk, and Bluetooth 5.2 straight from the headset for a mobile phone, at the same time. Dual means both ears are covered. Three microphones with Yealink Acoustic Shield clean up the outgoing call, a busylight on both sides shows colleagues you are busy, and the battery runs 16 hours of DECT talk time or 32 hours over Bluetooth, from a 90-minute charge. The base sits on the desk as the charging cradle and the DECT radio.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The important detail is what the WHB640 base actually connects to. It has a USB-C port, a micro-USB port, a mini-USB port, a DC power input and a busylight port — and no RJ9 socket. A computer connects over USB with either of the two supplied cables. A desk phone connects over USB if the phone has a USB headset port; a phone with an analogue headset port needs the optional telephone cable for WH64, WH65 and WH68, and remote answer and hang-up on a third-party desk phone needs the optional EHS62 adapter. Neither is in this box. If you are replacing a WH62 or WH63, note that their boxes did include a telephone cable and this one does not. Also worth knowing: the WH64 has no active noise cancellation — the three microphones work on the outgoing call, not on what you hear.

DECT reaches up to 185 metres from the base, which is the range Bluetooth cannot deliver in a real building. Bluetooth 5.2 lives in the headset itself, reaching about 50 metres, so a mobile stays connected while the desk connection runs over DECT.
Three microphones with Acoustic Shield
Three MEMS capsules running 100 Hz to 10,000 Hz at −38 dBV/Pa, with Yealink Acoustic Shield blocking background voices from the outgoing call. Hearing protection covers peak blocking to EN 50332, the Australian G616 standard and daily noise exposure limits.
A battery that survives a week
Sixteen hours of DECT talk time, thirty-two hours over Bluetooth and 195 hours of standby, from a charge that takes 90 minutes on the base. For most desks that is a weekly charge rather than a daily one, and the base charges it whenever the headset is parked.
A busylight on both sides
The integrated busylight is dual-sided, so it reads from either direction in an open office. An optional BLT60 external busylight can be added to the base for desks where an even more visible signal is wanted.

The WH64 is the practical answer for a desk that still has a phone on it and a mobile in a pocket, because the base handles the desk connection over DECT while Bluetooth in the headset handles the mobile independently. The point that costs people money is the telephone cable: the older WH62 and WH63 boxes included one and the WH64 box does not. If your desk phones have analogue headset ports, budget the optional cable and, if you want remote answer, the EHS62 as well — two line items that are easy to forget on a fifty-desk order. Within the family, 1208671 and 1208672 are the Mono builds and 1208673 and 1208674 the Dual ones, with Teams on the odd pairing.
