Yubico YubiKey 5 NFC — USB-A + NFC Hardware Security Key
USB-A + NFCFIDO2 passkeysPIV · OpenPGPIP68
The Yubico YubiKey 5 NFC is a keyring-size hardware security key with a USB-A plug and NFC. You plug it into a computer or tap it on a phone to prove it is you, so a stolen password alone is no longer enough to get into your accounts. It stores up to 100 passkeys for password-less sign-in and works as a second factor for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, password managers, social media and many banking and business services. The same key also speaks smart card (PIV), OpenPGP, Yubico OTP and OATH, so IT teams can use it for Windows sign-in, VPN and code signing as well. It needs no battery and no drivers, it is IP68 water and dust resistant, and it survives life on a keyring. In practice, a YubiKey stops the most common attacks — phishing pages and stolen passwords — because the key only answers the real website.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The plug is USB-A. On a laptop with USB-C ports only (recent MacBooks and ultrabooks) you need an adapter or the YubiKey 5C NFC instead. Phones work by NFC tap; there is no Lightning plug. Register two keys per account — if you lose the only key, recovery depends on each service’s backup options. Firmware cannot be updated, so the key keeps the feature set it ships with. Not sure it fits? Send us the model of your device, terminal or desk setup and we check it before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with my iPhone?
Yes, by NFC: hold the key near the top of the iPhone when the app or browser asks for it. There is no Lightning plug.
My laptop only has USB-C — what then?
Use a USB-C to USB-A adapter, or choose the YubiKey 5C NFC, which is the same key with a USB-C plug.
What happens if I lose it?
Register a second key on each account and keep it somewhere safe. Without a backup key, you rely on each service’s recovery codes.
Which services support it?
Microsoft, Google, Apple ID, GitHub, most password managers and many business apps support FIDO2 or U2F security keys. Send us the service you use and we check.
Singular Expert Insight
The YubiKey 5 NFC is the key we recommend first to small businesses: it covers desktop PCs through USB-A and phones through NFC. Buy two per person, register both, and start with the accounts that matter most — email, the password manager and banking. For USB-C laptops choose the 5C NFC. Every order is backed by Singular’s local support in Cyprus — if something does not fit or work as expected, call us and we sort it out with you. Browse more
