What It Means in Practice

  • Check the warranty first. Zebra gives ZC Series printers a 36-month warranty that includes the printhead, so a printer still inside that period should go through a warranty claim instead.
  • Before replacing the head, run the cleaning routine with Zebra cleaning cards. Dust and debris on cards cause many of the same streaks as a damaged head.
  • Fit the kit with the printer switched off and unplugged, and avoid touching the heating line of the new head.
  • Print a test card after installation and check colour and black panel quality before returning the printer to use.
