A worn printhead shows up as thin white lines running along the label, faded patches or barcodes that stop scanning. Match the part to both your printer model and its resolution — the configuration label printed from the printer shows the dpi.

• Printheads are wear parts: abrasive media, a ribbon narrower than the label, high darkness settings and missed cleaning all shorten their life.
• Clean the head with isopropyl alcohol or a cleaning pen whenever you change the ribbon or a media roll — it is the cheapest way to protect the new part.
