Zebra LI3608-SR: rugged 1D scanning at a USB workstation

1D Standard RangeCorded USB kitIP65 / IP67Vibration feedback

The Zebra LI3608-SR3U4600VZW is a corded handheld barcode scanner kit for warehouse receiving, packing benches and manufacturing workstations. Its Standard Range linear imager reads 1D codes on printed labels and screens, including difficult labels that are dirty, damaged or behind shrinkwrap. This Industrial Green kit contains one LI3608-SR00003VZWW scanner with vibration feedback and one CBA-U46-S07ZAR shielded USB cable, so the connection is to a host computer or suitable terminal rather than a wireless charging base.

Before you order:
Choose this kit for 1D barcodes and a wired USB workstation. It does not decode QR, Data Matrix or other 2D codes, and it does not provide Bluetooth operation. A host application must receive and use the scanned data; the scanner does not replace your stock or POS software. RS-232 and Keyboard Wedge require the appropriate alternative cable and setup. A stand or cordless cradle is not part of the verified kit contents.

What's in the Box

  • 1 × LI3608-SR00003VZWW corded Standard Range 1D scanner, Industrial Green, vibration motor.
  • 1 × CBA-U46-S07ZAR high-current shielded straight USB-A cable, 7 ft.

What It Means in Practice

  • At a receiving bench, connect the scanner to the host using the supplied USB cable, select the required interface configuration, open the receiving field in your application and scan each carton label with the trigger.
  • The cable defines the working area. This suits repeated scanning around one workstation; staff walking between aisles should consider a cordless configuration.
  • Range depends on barcode size: Zebra lists 2.5–78.7 cm for a 13 mil UPC, while a larger 20 mil Code 39 reaches 106.7 cm under the stated test conditions.
  • Vibration and visible LEDs help confirm a successful read when warehouse noise makes the beeper difficult to hear.

What Will Not Work

  • QR/2D scanning and wireless roaming require a different scanner configuration.
  • Reading a barcode on a screen does not make this a camera for photographs or document capture.
  • For freezer use and transitions, plan the appropriate heated holder to manage scan-window condensation.

Key Features

Read difficult 1D labels
Linear imaging supports printed and screen-based 1D barcodes, including damaged, dirty or shrinkwrapped labels.

Built for industrial handling
IP65/IP67 sealing, multiple 2.4 m concrete drops and 5000 tumbles at 1 m address the knocks and contamination of warehouse work.

Confirmation you can feel
Vibration, LEDs, a beeper and a direct decode indicator provide several ways to confirm capture.

Configure a repeatable workflow
Zebra 123Scan configures parameters and updates firmware; SMS supports remote scanner management through the host.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can it read a barcode displayed on a phone?
Yes, supported 1D barcodes can be read from a screen. A QR code remains a 2D code and cannot be decoded by this linear imager.
Is the 106.7 cm range available on every label?
No. This is the manufacturer reference for Code 39 at 20 mil. Smaller symbols have different near/far limits, and print quality, contrast and lighting affect the result.
Can I connect it to an existing serial workstation?
The scanner supports RS-232, but this SKU supplies a USB cable. Confirm the required serial cable, power arrangement and host configuration before ordering accessories.
Singular Expert Insight
Choose this configuration when the labels are 1D and the operator works close to a receiving or packing computer. The included USB cable and vibration motor are useful distinctions from scanner-only and cordless kits. Compare the barcode format and walking distance before paying for ruggedness alone. Buyer’s Guide

✓

Buy it if

you scan 1D labels repeatedly at a USB workstation and need industrial handling resistance.
✕

Skip it if

your workflow uses QR/2D codes or requires wireless movement away from the host.
→

Also consider

a 2D imager for QR/Data Matrix or a cordless kit for aisle work; verify its included base and cables.
Before ordering, check a sample label, working distance and the host connection with Singular.
