Zebra Shielded USB Cable, Series A, 2.1 m Straight
USB Series A2.1 m (7 ft) straightPowered from the hostBC1.2
The Zebra CBA-U21-S07ZBR is the official shielded USB cable that connects Zebra corded scanners such as the DS2208, DS8108 and DS9908 to a PC or POS through a standard USB Series A port, with a 2.1 m (7 ft) straight lead — for checkouts, desks and service counters.
The scanner is powered directly from the computer's USB port, so there is no power supply to add. It is also the USB cable Zebra lists for the DS2278 cordless cradle. It replaces the earlier CBA-U21-S07ZAR.
Before you order: This is the USB version. If your POS needs RS-232, IBM 46xx or keyboard wedge, order the matching Zebra cable for that interface instead — the scanner end is the same, the host end is not.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Zebra shielded USB cable, Series A, 2.1 m (7 ft) straight (as described)
- No power supply or scanner is included
What It Means in Practice
- Plug the modular end into the scanner's host port and the USB-A end into the PC or POS; the scanner powers up from USB.
- Straight (not coiled) 2.1 m lead: enough to reach a PC under the counter from the scanning position.
- Shielded cable for stable data in shops with many electrical devices and long cable runs behind the counter.
- BC1.2 support, per Zebra, for hosts that implement USB Battery Charging.
What Will Not Work
- It will not work with RS-232 serial, IBM 46xx or keyboard-wedge POS ports — USB Series A only.
- Older Symbol models such as the LS1203 use their own cables; Zebra's guides we checked do not list this cable for them.
- It does not include a USB-C adapter; for a USB-C only device you need an adapter of your own.
- It does not replace a USB extension: 2.1 m is the full length.
Key Features
Host powered
No external power supply needed — the scanner runs from the USB port.
Shielded construction
Protects the data line from interference along the counter.
Shared across Zebra scanners
One spare cable serves DS2208, DS8108, DS9908 and the DS2278 cradle, which keeps spares simple.
