Zebra lists it in the official spare-parts catalogues for these printers (Head Up Sensor in the ZD410 catalogue, Cover Open Sensor in the ZD420/ZD620 direct-thermal and cartridge catalogues). A failed sensor typically shows up as a printer that reports the head or cover open while it is closed, or does not react when it is opened.
Before you order: Zebra uses two different sensors in this family: P1080383-011 for ZD410, ZD420 Direct Thermal, ZD420 Cartridge and ZD620 Direct Thermal, and P1080383-044 for the thermal-transfer ZD420 and ZD620. Check the model on the printer label (a T in ZD420T/ZD620T means thermal transfer) before ordering. The newer ZD421 and ZD621 use different parts.
