The Zebra Z-Perform 1000D 87809 is an economy direct thermal paper label with a general-purpose permanent acrylic adhesive that bonds well to a wide variety of surfaces, supplied as 4 rolls x 950 labels (3,800 labels per box) of 102 x 152 mm white labels for Zebra industrial printers and print engines. It suits shipping and parcel labels, warehouse picking and receiving, retail shelf-edge and price labels, packaging and product identification.
Because it is direct thermal, the image is created by the printhead on heat-sensitive paper: there is no ribbon to buy, load or change. It has limited resistance to moisture and abrasion, and Zebra does not recommend it for high-speed printing, long-term sunlight, extreme heat or application on PVC surfaces.
Before you order: This is an industrial roll on a 76 mm core. It is made for Zebra industrial printers and print engines; it will not fit desktop printers such as the ZD or GK series.

What It Means in Practice
- Load and print: set the printer media type to direct thermal and run a media calibration after the first roll change.
- Label size 102 x 152 mm (width x length). Your label template must use the same size or the printer will print across label gaps.
- Sensing: use the printer's standard gap sensing and calibrate after loading.
- Typical jobs: shipping and parcel labels, warehouse picking and receiving, retail shelf-edge and price labels, packaging and product identification.
- Direct thermal prints darken if left in sunlight or near heat, so this is the right choice for labels with a life of weeks or months, not years outdoors.
What Will Not Work
- Desktop printers (ZD, GK, GX, GC series): the 76 mm core and large roll diameter do not fit their media compartment.
- Printing through a ribbon: this is direct thermal media. Remove the ribbon and set the printer to direct thermal mode.
- Temporary or repositionable labelling: the adhesive is permanent and will tear or leave residue if removed.
- Outdoor or long-term use, high-speed printing, hot environments or PVC surfaces: not recommended by Zebra for this material.
