The Zebra 3004861-T is a box of 10 Z-Perform 1000D direct thermal paper label rolls, 51 x 32 mm per label on a 76 mm core, made for Zebra industrial printers that print shipping, picking, shelf-edge and product labels without a ribbon.
Z-Perform 1000D is Zebra's economy direct thermal material: a smooth uncoated paper face with a general-purpose permanent acrylic adhesive that sticks well to cardboard, plastic film and most packaging. It is the label you use for short-life, indoor jobs where cost per label matters more than durability.
Before you order: This is a 76 mm core industrial roll (about 200 mm diameter). It will not fit Zebra desktop printers.

What It Means in Practice
- Direct thermal means the printer darkens the heat-sensitive paper itself, so you only change label rolls, never ribbons — fewer consumables and less downtime.
- The 76 mm core and roughly 200 mm roll diameter suit Zebra industrial printers (ZT200, ZT400, ZT600, ZE500 and 220Xi4 families), which change rolls far less often than desktop units.
- The adhesive meets FDA 175.105 for direct contact with dry foodstuffs (or separated by a functional barrier), so the labels can go on dry food packaging.
- Typical jobs Zebra recommends: indoor general-purpose labels, shipping and packaging labels, warehouse picking and receiving, retail shelf-edge and price labels, and product identification.
What Will Not Work
- Thermal transfer-only printers or printing with a ribbon: direct thermal media is designed to be printed without ribbon.
- Desktop printers (ZD, GK, GC, GX): the 76 mm core and large roll do not fit inside desktop media compartments.
- Long-term labelling, outdoor use, exposure to sunlight, extreme heat, moisture or abrasion: Zebra rates Z-Perform 1000D with limited resistance — choose a synthetic or thermal transfer label instead.
- High-speed printing applications and application on PVC surfaces, which Zebra does not recommend for this material.
- Laser or inkjet office printers: this is roll media for thermal label printers only.

The two things to get right are the core size (25 mm desktop vs 76 mm industrial) and making sure the job is short-life and indoor.
