Zebra Z-Select 2000D 190 Tags 102 x 76 mm — Direct Thermal, with Hole
Tag — no adhesive102 x 76 mm · 190 micron25 mm core · desktop12 rolls per box
The Zebra Z-Select 2000D 190 Tag 800999-020 is a 102 x 76 mm direct thermal paper tag in white matte top-coated 190 micron card, supplied with a hole and wound on a 25 mm core for Zebra 4-inch desktop printers — for shelf-edge tags, visitor and admission tickets, inventory and shop-floor tracking.
A tag has no adhesive: it is a stiff card that hangs, slots into a holder or is handed out. The 190 micron thickness gives it enough rigidity to stand in shelf channels or survive being carried around a warehouse.
The protective top-coat gives improved resistance to image fading under direct sunlight or UV light compared with Zebra's Z-Perform 1000D tags, while still printing without a ribbon.
Before you order: These are tags, not self-adhesive labels — nothing peels off a liner. They are direct thermal (no ribbon) and 102 mm wide on a 25 mm core, so they need a 4-inch Zebra desktop printer that can handle 190 micron tag stock. 2-inch models such as the ZD410 or ZD411 cannot take them.
What's in the Box
- 12 rolls of Zebra Z-Select 2000D 190 tags, 102 x 76 mm
- Tags supplied with a hole for hanging or tying
- Wound on a 25 mm core, roll diameter approx. 98 mm (3.84 in)
- No ribbon — none is needed for direct thermal printing
What It Means in Practice
- No adhesive and no liner: every tag is usable as printed, with no backing paper to dispose of.
- The hole lets you tie or hang tags on goods, racks, bags or bins with string, cable ties or hooks.
- Top-coated face resists fading in sunlight and UV better than uncoated tag stock, which helps in shop windows and bright warehouses.
- Direct thermal images still dislike long-term sunlight, extreme heat, moisture and solvents — Zebra does not recommend it for those conditions.
What Will Not Work
- Self-adhesive labelling — there is no adhesive; use a Z-Select 2000D label instead.
- 2-inch desktop printers (ZD410, ZD411) — the 102 mm roll is too wide.
- Industrial ZT-series printers — Zebra lists this 25 mm core roll for desktop printers.
- Outdoor use, long sunlight exposure, extreme heat or extended moisture and solvents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these sticky labels?
No. They are 190 micron paper tags with no adhesive and no liner, supplied with a hole for hanging. For self-adhesive labels choose a Z-Select 2000D label.
Can my GK420d print tags this thick?
Zebra lists 4-inch desktop printers such as the GK420d/t, GX420d and ZD421 for this tag. After loading, run the printer's media calibration so it detects the tag length correctly; if you are unsure, we can walk you through it.
How long does the print last?
Longer in light than Z-Perform tags thanks to the top-coat, but it is still direct thermal: keep it away from long sunlight, heat, moisture and solvents for best life.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Tags solve a different problem from labels: no adhesive, no liner, and a card stiff enough to stand on its own. The Z-Select 2000D 190 is the mid-weight top-coated choice for shelf edges, tickets and work-in-progress tags printed on a 4-inch desktop printer. For heavier-duty or outdoor tags, ask us about synthetic tag stock. Browse our
Zebra labels and receipt rolls to compare.
✓ Buy it if you print shelf-edge, ticket, visitor or work-in-progress tags on a Zebra 4-inch desktop printer and want ribbon-free printing.
✕ Skip it if you need self-adhesive labels, have a 2-inch printer, or the tags will live outdoors.
→ Also consider Zebra Z-Select 2000D self-adhesive labels, or synthetic tags for outdoor and wet environments.
