Zebra ZD411d — 2-inch direct thermal desktop label printer, 300 dpi
Direct Thermal300 dpiUp to 102 mm/sUSB & Bluetooth LE
The Zebra ZD411d is a 2-inch desktop label printer that prints by direct thermal at 300 dpi and up to 102 mm/s (4 ips), made for product, price and small shelf labels, specimen and asset labels, and narrow receipts up to about 60 mm wide.
It connects over USB 2.0, USB Host, Bluetooth Low Energy (setup). As a Zebra printer it runs ZPL II and EPL natively, so courier integrations, ERP templates and existing Zebra label formats work without emulation. It is a compact, single-user or workgroup printer for counters, packing benches, back offices and small warehouses rather than a 24/7 industrial line printer.
In practice it sits between a PC or POS terminal and a roll of labels: you design labels in label software such as BarTender, or print them straight from your ERP, WMS, e-shop back office or courier portal. Label size, gap and darkness are set once in the driver or by a quick media calibration, and after that every print lands in the same place on the label.
Before you order: This is a direct thermal printer. It needs direct thermal (heat-sensitive) labels and does not use a ribbon. Direct thermal labels darken with heat and fade in sunlight, so for labels that must last outdoors or for years choose a thermal transfer model with a ribbon.
What's in the Box
- Zebra ZD411d printer
- External power supply with EU and UK power cords
- USB cable
- Quick start guide
What It Means in Practice
- Labels from 15–60 mm wide on rolls up to 127 mm outside diameter — typical 25 to 58 mm product labels and 58 mm receipt rolls fit; 100 mm shipping labels do not.
- At up to 102 mm/s (4 ips) a 50 mm long label prints in roughly 0.5 seconds, so batches of a few hundred labels are a matter of minutes.
- With USB 2.0, USB Host, Bluetooth Low Energy (setup) only, it prints from the PC it is cabled to; to use it from several PCs, share it from that PC or choose the network version.
- No ribbon to buy or change: running cost is the labels only, and loading a new roll takes seconds.
What Will Not Work
- Media wider than 60 mm or rolls larger than 127 mm outside diameter.
- Ribbons and thermal transfer-only labels — this model has no ribbon mechanism.
- Colour printing, photos or ordinary A4 office printing — it prints one colour (black) on label media.
- Wireless printing from phones out of the box — the built-in Bluetooth LE is for setup with Zebra's app; add the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module for wireless printing.
Key Features
Native ZPL II and EPL
Zebra's own languages, so label formats from ERP, WMS, lab or pharmacy software written for Zebra print unchanged.
Upgrade in the field
Ethernet or serial modules fit into the connectivity slot on site, and a Wi-Fi 6/Bluetooth 5.3 module can be added later — buy USB now, network later.
Compact 2-inch body
Only 115 mm wide and 1.0 kg, it fits on crowded counters, lab benches and nurse stations.
Cutter or peeler later
A cutter and a peeler with label-taken sensor are field-installable, so the printer adapts as the workflow changes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I print from my phone over Bluetooth?
Not with this configuration as delivered: Bluetooth Low Energy is used to set the printer up with Zebra's mobile app. For wireless printing, add the field-installable Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module.
Can I add Ethernet later?
Yes. ZD411 Ethernet and RS-232 serial modules are field-installable in the connectivity slot.
Will 100 × 150 mm shipping labels fit?
No. Media is 15–60 mm wide. For courier labels choose a 4-inch printer such as the Zebra ZD230.
Can I print courier labels from the carrier website?
Yes. Courier and marketplace portals offer labels as PDF, which prints through the Windows driver once the label size is set. ZPL or EPL files can also be sent to the printer directly, which is faster and keeps barcodes razor-sharp.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The 300 dpi ZD411d is the sharper version of Zebra's compact 2-inch printer: small fonts, tiny barcodes and 2D codes on specimen, pharmacy, jewellery or electronics labels stay readable. The modular slot lets you add Ethernet, serial or wireless later. If you opt for a networked version instead, connect it with a patch cable from our
network cables range.
✓ Buy it if you print small, dense labels up to 60 mm wide that must scan first time.
✕ Skip it if labels are simple and speed matters — the 203 dpi version prints 50% faster.
→ Also consider Zebra ZD411d 203 dpi (ZD4A022) or BIXOLON SLP-DX223 (300 dpi with Ethernet).
