Zebra ZD611 Thermal Transfer Label Printer, 300 dpi, Wired + Wireless
300 dpi152 mm/s (6 ips)4.3" colour touch LCDEthernet + USB + Wi-Fi + BT
The Zebra ZD611 (ZD6A123-T2EB02EZ) is a 2-inch thermal transfer desktop label printer at 300 dpi with a 4.3-inch colour touch display and both wired and wireless connectivity, for sharp small labels in healthcare, retail, labs and electronics. At 300 dpi it prints fine text, small barcodes and 2D codes that 203 dpi printers struggle with.
The ZD611 is Zebra's premium 2-inch model: 512 MB Flash and 256 MB SDRAM, Link-OS for remote management, ZPL II and EPL 2 languages, and a maximum speed of 152 mm/s (6 ips) at 300 dpi. Thermal transfer means it uses a ribbon, so labels resist heat, light and abrasion much longer than direct thermal labels.
Before you order: Maximum print width is 54 mm at 300 dpi and media width is 15–60 mm. For 100 mm (4-inch) shipping labels you need a 4-inch printer such as the ZD621. The ZD611 takes 74 m ribbons on a 12.7 mm core only; 300 m ribbons do not fit.

What It Means in Practice
- 300 dpi is the right choice for small labels: specimen tubes, jewellery tags, electronic components and shelf-edge labels with small barcodes
- The colour touch display shows media status and settings in plain words, so staff can fix most issues without IT
- Ethernet plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: place it on the network or next to a mobile device without extra adapters
- Thermal transfer labels last outdoors, in freezers and on products that are handled a lot
What Will Not Work
- 4-inch (100 mm) labels: the ZD611 is a 2-inch class printer (max 60 mm media)
- 300 m ribbons (ZD611 supports 74 m ribbons only)
- Direct thermal only operation is possible, but if you never need ribbons a ZD611d model is the simpler choice
- Wide receipts or A4/A5 documents

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need 300 dpi?
If your labels are smaller than about 25 mm or carry small 2D codes, yes. For standard shipping or shelf labels, 203 dpi is enough.
Can I print 100 mm shipping labels?
No. The ZD611 handles media up to 60 mm wide. Choose a 4-inch model such as the ZD621 for shipping labels.
Which ribbons do I need?
74 m ribbons on a 12.7 mm core, width matched to your labels. Wax for paper labels, wax/resin or resin for synthetic and durable labels. Tell us your label material and we will match the ribbon.
Does it have a cutter?
A cutter is not stated for this configuration. Ask us before ordering if you need cutting.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The ZD611 makes sense when labels are small and must stay readable: lab samples, pharmacy, electronics. If your labels are 100 mm wide or you print hundreds of shipping labels a day, a 4-inch printer is the right tool. Browse all
label printers.
✓ Buy it if you print small, durable labels at 300 dpi and want touch-screen control and wireless connectivity.
✕ Skip it if you print 100 mm shipping labels or only need basic direct thermal labels.
→ Also consider Zebra ZD621 (4-inch thermal transfer) for wider labels.
