The LANCOM SFP-SX-LC1 in bulk package 60184 is a pack of ten Gigabit SFP transceivers for multimode fibre, reaching up to 550 m on 50/125 µm fibre. It suits IT teams rolling out fibre uplinks across a LANCOM switch estate, where buying modules ten at a time keeps spares on the shelf. Each module is a standard 1000BASE-SX optic at 850 nm with an LC duplex connector and digital diagnostics. In practice, multimode optics are the cheaper choice for links inside one building: most server rooms and floor risers already carry OM3 or OM4 fibre, and the module plus a short LC patch cord is all a port needs. Before you order, check the fibre grade printed on the cable jacket and the real length of the run, including patch panels.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This article is ten modules. If you need one, order the single article 61556 instead. It needs multimode fibre — it will not work on single-mode fibre, and the 550 m reach applies only to 50/125 µm fibre (62.5/125 µm gives 300 m). The far end needs an 850 nm SX module: the similar-looking SFP-SX2-LC1 (1310 nm, 2 km) will not link to it. Keep the dust cap on until you connect the fibre, and clean both connector ends before every mating — dirt is the most common cause of a link that will not come up. Not sure?
