Good Connections OS2 Singlemode Fiber Patch Cable, LC/UPC to LC/UPC, Duplex, 1 m
OS2 · 9/125 µmLC/UPC ↔ LC/UPCDuplex1 m
The Good Connections LW-901LC is a 1 m duplex OS2 singlemode fibre patch cable with LC/UPC connectors on both ends, made for singlemode links between switches, SFP/SFP+ optics, patch panels and media converters.
The cable uses an LSZH jacket with a 2.0 mm outer diameter in yellow, the standard colour for singlemode, so it is easy to tell apart in a busy rack. The duplex clip can be removed to swap polarity (A/B) on site, so a crossed link can be corrected without a new cable. Every cable is tested after assembly and ships with its own measurement report.
Before you order: OS2 singlemode works with 1310/1550 nm long-reach (LR/LX/ER) singlemode optics only. Multimode SR/SX transceivers will not work on this cable. Check that both ports are LC.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Good Connections OS2 duplex fibre patch cable, 1 m, LC/UPC – LC/UPC
- Dust caps fitted on every connector
- Individual test report for this cable
- Transceivers, couplers and patch panels are not included
What It Means in Practice
- Two fibres in one cable: one transmits, one receives — the normal setup for SFP, SFP+, SFP28 and most media converters.
- At 1 m it is a rack or desk-side jumper: switch to patch panel, server to top-of-rack switch, or media converter to wall outlet.
- Singlemode OS2 is the right choice for 1310/1550 nm optics (1000BASE-LX, 10GBASE-LR and similar) and for links that will be extended later over long distances.
- Respect the minimum bend radius (15 mm): route the cable in gentle loops and do not pinch it in rack doors or cable ties.
- Keep the connectors covered until the moment of connection and clean the end-faces if a link shows high loss — dirt is the most common cause.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode SR/SX transceivers (850 nm) — they need OM3/OM4/OM5 cable.
- Ports of another connector type (SC, ST, MPO/MTP, E2000) without the right hybrid cable or adapter.
- Permanent in-wall or outdoor installation — this is a patch cable for racks, desks and equipment rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions
The link does not come up — is the cable faulty?
Most often the polarity is crossed. Open the duplex clip and swap the two connectors at one end (A↔B), then try again.
Is OS2 the same as OS1 or G.652.D?
All are 9/125 µm singlemode and mate with each other. OS2 is the low-water-peak grade used for both indoor patching and long links; this cable is specified as ITU-T G.652.D.
Which transceivers go with this cable?
Singlemode optics: for example 1000BASE-LX, 10GBASE-LR or 25GBASE-LR SFP modules with LC receptacles. Both ends of the link must use the same standard and wavelength.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Singlemode OS2 is the safe default for new fibre links: it handles 1G to 100G and long distances with the right optics. Match three things before ordering: fibre type (OS2), connector at each end (LC/UPC / LC/UPC) and polish. Typical partners are
switches with SFP/SFP+ ports and the matching transceivers.
✓ Buy it if your ports are LC on both sides and the link is OS2.
✕ Skip it if your transceivers are multimode SR/SX — order OM4 instead.
→ Also consider the same cable in other lengths.
