The StarTech.com SLIDESHELFD adds a sliding platform to a 19-inch server or equipment rack. It supports non-rackmount equipment, diagnostic tools or a keyboard, and can be inverted to act as a shallow 1U pull-out drawer. The black steel assembly has a stationary load rating of 25kg. This listing supplies one shelf assembly with rails, mounts and fixing hardware; the rack, keyboard and other equipment shown in application photos are not supplied.
Before you order:
Measure the distance between the rack’s mounting planes: the specified mounting-depth range is 55.2–81.8cm. The 22-inch product description does not mean that any cabinet with a 22-inch external depth will fit. Allow clearance for the drawer movement, equipment height and cables, and check rack stability before extending a loaded shelf. The 25kg figure is the stationary load rating.
What It Means in Practice
- For periodic server maintenance, place a suitable keyboard or diagnostic device on the shelf and slide it forward when access is needed. Invert the tray for a drawer-style storage arrangement. Use the included mounting system and check that cables can follow the movement without snagging; cable management is not built in.
What Will Not Work
- It is not a complete rack, keyboard or monitor console. The published 25kg stationary capacity is not a separate verified dynamic or fully extended load rating. Equipment clearance may require additional rack space beyond the shelf’s own 1U mounting height.
