Tripp Lite N370X-01M — 400G Duplex OS2 Singlemode LC/UPC Patch Cable with Switchable Polarity, 1 m
OS2 9/125 singlemodeLC/UPC ↔ LC/UPCSwitchable polarityLSZH · 1 m
The Tripp Lite by Eaton N370X-01M is a 1-metre duplex OS2 singlemode (9/125 µm) fiber patch cable with LC/UPC connectors at both ends, built for patching 10G to 400G singlemode optics in racks and data rooms. Its LC connectors let you swap the polarity of the pair in seconds, without tools and without re-terminating the cable, which is the usual fix when a new link stays dark because transmit is facing transmit.
The jacket is low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) and rated OFNR, in the yellow colour used across the industry for singlemode, so the cable is easy to tell apart from aqua or violet multimode cords in a crowded panel. A flat 2.0 × 4.1 mm duplex profile and a 10 mm static bend radius keep it tidy in vertical managers and short switch-to-panel runs.
Before you order: Singlemode only, LC/UPC only. Check that both optics are singlemode (LR, ER, DR, FR, LX, etc.) and use duplex LC — not MPO/MTP and not APC (green) connectors.
What's in the Box
- 1 × N370X-01M duplex OS2 LC/UPC patch cable, 1 m
- Protective dust caps on the connectors
What It Means in Practice
- Patches a singlemode switch or router port to a fibre patch panel, or links two devices in the same rack, at any speed their optics support from 1G up to 400G over duplex LC.
- If a newly installed link shows no light, flip the polarity on one LC duplex clip instead of crossing fibres or ordering a different cable.
- LSZH jacket is the safer choice for enclosed rooms and the jacket type many EU building specifications ask for indoors.
- At 1 m it suits top-of-rack patching and short jumps between adjacent devices; for longer runs ask us for the next length up.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode optics (SR, SX, 850 nm) — they need OM3/OM4/OM5 multimode cable, not OS2 singlemode.
- APC (angled, green) connectors or adapters — mating UPC to APC causes high loss and can damage the end faces.
- 400G optics with MPO/MTP interfaces (e.g. DR4, SR8) — these need an MPO trunk or breakout, not a duplex LC cord.
- Outdoor or direct-burial runs — this is an indoor OFNR patch cable.
Key Features
Polarity switching without tools
The LC duplex clip lets you reverse A/B polarity on site in seconds, so one cable covers both straight and crossed links.
Low-loss OS2 singlemode
Insertion loss ≤ 0.30 dB per connector pair and 0.4 / 0.3 dB/km attenuation at 1310 / 1550 nm leave plenty of budget for short patching.
LSZH, OFNR jacket
Low-smoke zero-halogen jacket, yellow for singlemode identification, UL 1666 riser-rated per Tripp Lite.
400G-ready
Specified by Tripp Lite for 1/10/40/100/400 Gbps links that use duplex LC singlemode optics.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I switch the polarity?
Slide or rotate the LC duplex clip as marked on the connector body and swap the two LC plugs — no tools and no re-termination are needed.
Can I use it for 10G LR or 25G LR SFP modules?
Yes. Any optic with a duplex LC singlemode interface works, from 1G LX up to 400G FR4/LR4; the cable itself is speed-independent within its loss budget.
Is this an OM4 cable?
No. It is OS2 singlemode (yellow). For SR/850 nm multimode optics you need an OM3/OM4 cable instead.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Most dark-link calls on new installs are polarity, not faulty optics — a switchable LC cord removes that problem on the spot. Pair it with a matching singlemode transceiver and check the switch side on our
switches page before you order.
✓ Buy it if you are patching singlemode LC optics (LR/ER/FR/DR) inside a rack or between adjacent racks and want LSZH with tool-free polarity flip.
✕ Skip it if your optics are multimode (SR/SX) or use MPO/MTP connectors, or the patch panel is APC.
→ Also consider longer N370X lengths for cross-rack runs, or an OM4 LC/LC cable if your transceivers are SR.
Not sure which fibre your optics need? Send us the transceiver or switch model and we will confirm the right cable before you order.
