LANCOM LANcare Advanced S (article 10730) is a manufacturer service agreement for one LANCOM device of service category S. It adds five years of advance hardware replacement: if the device fails, a replacement is shipped for delivery on the next business day when the fault is reported by 2 p.m. CET, and the defective unit is collected free of charge by courier. It also includes security updates until the device reaches end of life (at least five years) and support on weekdays from 9 to 17 CET. LANCOM is now part of Rohde & Schwarz, and the service is sold today as R&S®NC Replacement Advanced S (formerly LANcare Advanced). In practice it keeps a critical router, switch or access point running with minimum downtime.
Compatibility — check before buying:
It must match the device and be registered on time. The service category (S, M, L or XL) of each LANCOM device is stated in that device’s datasheet — this item covers category S only (M, L and XL are articles 10731, 10732 and 10733). Register it within the first three months after buying the device; it is tied to that one serial number, is not transferable, and the device must be fully working at registration.
