LANCOM LANcare Basic S (article 10720), now sold as R&S NC Replacement Basic in variant S, extends the service life of one LANCOM device in service category S. It combines a 5-year replacement service from the date of registration with security updates until the device reaches its end of life (at least 5 years). If the device fails, you send it in and it is repaired or exchanged and returned within 5 business days of receipt.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The S must match the device: each LANCOM datasheet states the service category. LANCOM lists as category S devices such as the 1800VA, 1800VAW, 1803VA, 1800EF and 1800EFW routers, 750-4G/750-5G, GS-1208P, GS-2412(P), GS-2426(P), LX-6200, LX-6400, LX-6402, LX-7200, LX-7300, LX-7400, LX-7500, LW-700 and UF-60/160/260. It must be registered within 3 months of purchase, is tied to one serial number and cannot be transferred. It excludes unmanaged switches, switches with a limited lifetime warranty, AirLancer products and accessories. It is not advance replacement — that is LANcare/Replacement Advanced S (10730).
