Snom A170C DECT Headset with USB-C Base, Phone + PC, Convertible 3 Wearing Styles, EHS, Wideband, 25 m Range, Black
Snom A170C — DECT Headset for the Snom Desk Phone and the PC
The Snom A170C is a DECT wireless headset with a charging base that connects to a Snom desk phone and to a PC at the same time. It is meant for office and reception staff who answer the desk phone but also take softphone or Teams calls on the computer, and want to walk away from the desk during a call.
DECT gives up to 25 m of indoor range without Bluetooth pairing, and electronic hook switch (EHS) support lets you answer and end calls from the headset on supported Snom phones. The lightweight convertible headset can be worn over the ear, over the head or behind the neck, and the base connects to the PC by USB-C.

What It Means in Practice
- One headset for the desk phone and the PC: two LEDs on the base show which is active, and you switch between them.
- Walk around the office during a call — up to 25 m indoors.
- With EHS on a supported Snom phone you answer and hang up from the headset, without lifting the handset.
- Up to 6 hours of talk time (narrowband) and about 2 hours to recharge in the cradle.
What Will Not Work
- It has no Bluetooth, so it does not connect to a mobile phone.
- Noise reduction is passive only; there is no active microphone noise cancelling.
- Call control on non-Snom phones is not published.
- No UC platform certification (e.g. for Teams) is published; on PC it works as a USB audio device.
