The ABUS TVVR33803 is a 8-channel hybrid video recorder that records four analogue HD cameras over coax (BNC) together with 4 IP cameras — the practical way to keep an existing analogue installation running while adding network cameras.
The analogue inputs accept HD-TVI, AHD and HD-CVI cameras up to 5 MP as well as classic CVBS, and each input can also be switched to IP, for up to 8 IP cameras in total. Video is stored on one 3.5" SATA drive of up to 10 TB and viewed over HDMI or VGA, in the ABUS Link Station app or in ABUS CMS.
Before you order: No hard drive is included, and the recorder has no PoE — IP cameras need a PoE switch or their own power supply. Analogue cameras need their own 12 V power.

What It Means in Practice
- Keep your coax cabling: analogue HD cameras up to 5 MP (2960 × 1665 TVI at 20 fps) plug straight into the BNC inputs.
- Mix in IP cameras: 4 IP channels are available alongside the four analogue ones, and analogue inputs can be converted to IP channels when you upgrade cameras.
- Recording of 5 MP analogue video runs at up to 20 fps; IP cameras at 8 MP record at reduced frame rate (8 fps), so the recorder suits mostly analogue and 2–4 MP IP systems.
- The 10 TB drive limit and 32 Mbit/s incoming bandwidth set the practical size — fine for a shop or house, not for a large site.
- Fanless design for silent operation; for a rack it needs a 1U shelf.
What Will Not Work
- Monitor output is Full HD (1080p) only — no 4K on HDMI.
- IP cameras get no power from the recorder (no PoE ports).
- Very old analogue cameras with non-standard outputs may not be recognised — send us the camera model first.
- No ONVIF support is listed by ABUS — plan on ABUS IP cameras for the IP channels.
- Not compatible with ABUS alarm systems Secvest, Secoris, Smartvest or wAppLoxx.

A hybrid recorder like the TVVR33803 is the right move when the coax is already in the walls: you replace the old DVR, keep the cameras and add IP cameras where you need more detail.
