The ABUS TVVR36702 is a 8-channel network video recorder (NVR) that records up to eight ABUS IP cameras at up to 8 MP (4K) — built for homes, shops and small offices that want local recording without a cloud subscription.

It sits in a compact, fanless 1U chassis, takes one 3.5" SATA hard drive of up to 16 TB, and shows live and recorded video on a monitor over HDMI (up to 4K) or VGA. Remote viewing runs through the free ABUS Link Station app and ABUS CMS on a PC.

Before you order: This model has no PoE ports — the cameras are powered by a separate PoE switch or their own adapters. No hard drive is included.

What It Means in Practice

  • Up to eight cameras at full 8 MP recording; the recorder can display up to 32 MP of decoded video at once (24 MP when its own AI analysis is on), so very large live layouts of 8 MP streams are limited.
  • Cameras connect through your network: plug the recorder and a PoE switch into the same LAN.
  • A 16 TB drive is the maximum per bay. Retention time depends on camera count, resolution and bitrate — we can estimate it for your setup.
  • Fanless design means silent operation, so it can sit in an office or under a counter. In a rack it needs a shelf (not included).
  • Notifications go to the ABUS Link Station app by push and e-mail; recording can be continuous, scheduled, on motion or on alarm.

What Will Not Work

  • No ONVIF support is listed by ABUS for this recorder — plan on ABUS IP cameras rather than third-party brands.
  • Analogue (coax/BNC) cameras will not connect — for those you need a hybrid recorder.
  • Not compatible with ABUS alarm systems Secvest, Secoris, Smartvest or wAppLoxx.
  • AI person/vehicle detection on the recorder works with ABUS IP cameras from 2022 onward and is limited to the channel counts in the table.
  • Only one drive bay — no RAID or mirroring for redundancy.
