ABUS IPCB58511B — 8 MP IP Spherical Dome Camera, 4 mm
8 MP · 4K4 mm · 87°Person/vehicle AIONVIF · PoE
The ABUS IPCB58511B is a 8 MP IP spherical dome camera with a 4 mm lens (87° horizontal), infrared up to 30 m and IP67 weather protection — built for professional installations in shops, offices and commercial premises.
Part of the ABUS professional IP range, it combines a large 1/1.8" sensor and F1.4 aperture for low-light images (0.003 lx in colour) with on-camera person/vehicle classification, ONVIF Profile G, S and T for third-party recorders, and a microSD slot for local recording.
Before you order: Do not confuse it with the IPCB58511A, the same camera with a 2.8 mm lens. The 4 mm version sees less width but more detail at distance. No power supply is included.
What's in the Box
- ABUS IPCB58511B Spherical Dome camera with quick guide and safety notes
- No power supply — it is meant to be powered over PoE from a switch or recorder
- Network cable, microSD card and junction box are not included
What It Means in Practice
- 8 MP (3840 × 2160) gives about four times the detail of a 2 MP camera — enough to digitally zoom into a recording and still recognise a face or a number plate at short range.
- The 30 m infrared range sets how far you see in the dark; beyond that the image falls off to black.
- A single network cable carries video and power (PoE 802.3af); 12 V DC operation is available where there is no PoE switch.
- A microSD slot (up to 256 GB (card not included)) keeps recording locally if the network or recorder is down.
- Person/vehicle classification lets the camera ignore moving branches, rain and animals, so alerts are about people and cars.
- At full 8 MP the camera runs at 20 fps — fine for surveillance; fast motion is smoother at lower resolutions.
- The spherical dome body can be turned in all directions after mounting, so it works on walls and ceilings alike.
What Will Not Work
- No microphone and no audio connections — this camera records video only.
- No alarm input or output on the camera itself.
- Not an analogue (BNC/coax) camera — it needs a network recorder, an IP-capable hybrid recorder or direct app access.
- Fixed lens — no zoom; pick 2.8 mm for width or 4 mm for distance before ordering.
- No colour at night — the image switches to black-and-white infrared.
