ABUS IPCS28581A — 8 MP IP Panorama Dome Camera, 180° Colour Night Vision
180° panorama8 MP · 5120 × 1440Colour at nightTwo-way audio
The ABUS IPCS28581A is an 8 MP IP panorama dome camera that stitches two 4 mm sensors into one seamless 180° image (5120 × 1440) and stays in colour at night with white-light LEDs up to 30 m — one camera to cover a whole façade, car park or shop floor from a wall.
Two 1/1.8" sensors with F1.0 lenses capture colour down to 0.0005 lx, 130 dB WDR handles bright entrances, and person/vehicle classification filters alerts. A built-in microphone and loudspeaker allow talk-back, and alarm I/O with a relay can switch a gate or light.
Before you order: The 180° view is wide but not detailed at distance — it shows what happens across the area, not faces 20 m away. Not compatible with the ABUS alarm systems Secvest, Secoris, Comfion or wAppLoxx. No power supply is included.
What's in the Box
- ABUS IPCS28581A Panorama Dome camera with quick guide and safety notes
- No power supply — it is meant to be powered over PoE from a switch or recorder
- Network cable, microSD card and junction box are not included
What It Means in Practice
- 8 MP (3840 × 2160) gives about four times the detail of a 2 MP camera — enough to digitally zoom into a recording and still recognise a face or a number plate at short range.
- With white light instead of infrared the night image stays in colour, which helps identify clothing and vehicle colours.
- A single network cable carries video and power (PoE 802.3af); 12 V DC operation is available where there is no PoE switch.
- A microSD slot (up to 256 GB (card not included)) keeps recording locally if the network or recorder is down.
- Person/vehicle classification lets the camera ignore moving branches, rain and animals, so alerts are about people and cars.
- Mount it on a wall: 180° from one point replaces two or three standard cameras and leaves no gap between their views.
- Because the image is 5120 × 1440, the recorder and monitor show it as a wide strip — plan screen layouts accordingly.
What Will Not Work
- Not an analogue (BNC/coax) camera — it needs a network recorder, an IP-capable hybrid recorder or direct app access.
- No infrared — at night it lights the scene with visible white light, which neighbours will notice.
- Not suited to ceiling mounting looking straight down — it is designed for a 180° wall view.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The IPCS28581A is the camera to choose when blind spots between cameras are the problem: one 180° colour image of the whole area, day and night. Pair it with a narrower camera at the entrance for faces. Browse our other IP cameras if you need a different lens or housing.
✓ Buy it if you want one wall camera that covers a full 180° area in colour, day and night, with talk-back.
✕ Skip it if you need identification at distance or invisible (IR) night lighting.
→ Also consider the ABUS IPCB68621 motorised zoom tube for detail at an entrance.
Not sure it fits your system? Send us the models of the cameras or recorder you already have and we will check compatibility before you order.
