Active Key AK-440 — Compact Keyboard with Integrated Trackball, USB, US International, Black
14 mm trackballCompact 293 mmSplash-resistantUSB plug and play
The Active Key AK-440 (AK-440-TU-B/US) is a compact keyboard with a built-in 14 mm trackball for places where a separate mouse is impractical: server rooms and racks, machine and plant control, kiosks and self-service terminals, laboratories and healthcare workstations. The notebook-style key field uses scissor-balanced keys over a closed contact system that resists splash water and dust, and the trackball gives smooth cursor control to operators who have never used one. It connects over USB and works with any operating system that supports standard USB keyboards. This part number is the US International layout in black. In the box: keyboard with fixed USB cable.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Plug and play over USB 1.1 on any system with standard USB keyboard support — Windows, macOS, Linux, embedded. The trackball appears as a standard USB mouse. Layout: US International QWERTY, the layout most people in Cyprus type on. The AK-440 is splash-resistant, not sealed: for wipe-down disinfection or IP-rated protection Active Key makes dedicated medical and protected models, and the AK-F440 silicone cover adds a barrier for this one. Keys are not backlit and there is no numeric keypad.
Best For
✓ Server cabinets and 19-inch installations
✓ Machine, apparatus and plant control panels
✓ Kiosks, self-service and information terminals
✓ Laboratory and healthcare workstations (with AK-F440 cover)
✓ Desks too small for a keyboard and a mouse
✓ Operators who need one device for typing and pointing
Key Features
Integrated 14 mm trackball
A precise trackball with mouse buttons takes the place of a mouse, so the whole workstation fits in 293 mm and nothing rolls off the bench.
Notebook-style scissor keys
Scissor-balanced key guidance with a contained contact system: a short, laptop-like stroke that stays consistent on every key.
Splash-resistant and simple
The closed contact system shrugs off splashes and dust; add the AK-F440 cover for fluids and disinfection. Num, Caps and Scroll LEDs.
Works everywhere
USB 1.1 low-power device (about 45 mA), 0–50 °C operation, CE and FCC approvals, and no drivers to install.

Singular Expert Insight
The AK-440 is the practical choice when a rack, panel or kiosk has room for one device and a mouse would be lost or damaged; for a desk, a normal keyboard from our keyboards with a mouse from our wireless mice is more comfortable. Send us the installation details and we will confirm the variant and whether you need the cover.
