Some listings describe it as a «Mini MultiLane» (SFF-8088) cable — that is incorrect: both ends are SFF-8644 Mini SAS HD.

Before you order: Microchip lists it with its Adaptec controllers that have external SFF-8644 ports, e.g. SmartRAID 3154-8e/-8i8e, SmartHBA 2100-8i8e, HBA 1100-8e/-16e and ASR-8885. Check that your enclosure's port is SFF-8644 too.

What It Means in Practice

SFF-8644 is a standard connector, so it fits any 12Gb/s Mini SAS HD external port. Compatibility of the controller with the enclosure is a separate question — send us both models and we will check.
Does the cable affect speed?
No — the controller, the backplane or enclosure and the drives set the speed. The cable only has to match the connectors and the SAS generation; the right cable never slows the link down, and the wrong one simply will not plug in.
