Good Connections OS2 LC/APC to SC/APC Simplex Fibre Patch Cable — 15 m
OS2 9/125 µmLC/APC ↔ SC/APCSimplex15 m · LSZH
The Good Connections LW-S915LASA is a 15 m simplex OS2 single-mode fibre optic patch cable (9/125 µm) with LC/APC on one end and SC/APC on the other, for FTTx connections — for example from the building fibre termination point to an ONT or modem — and data-centre links that use APC.
The yellow 2.0 mm jacket is LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen), with a minimum bend radius of 15 mm. Every cable is tested and shipped with its own measurement report. OS2 is the current single-mode grade (9/125 µm). It is the choice for runs between floors or buildings, carrier and FTTH connections, and any LX/LR/ER-type optics; the reach is set by the transceiver, not by this short patch cord.
Before you order: Both ends are APC (green, 8° angled polish). APC connectors must only mate with APC ports and couplers — a UPC (blue) port gives high loss and can damage the end faces. Check the colour of the port on your ONT or wall outlet first.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Good Connections OS2 simplex patch cable, LC/APC to SC/APC, 15 m
- Dust caps on the connectors
- Individual test / measurement report
- No couplers, adapters or transceivers are included
What It Means in Practice
- Simplex = one fibre. It suits single-fibre links such as an FTTH drop to an ONT or BiDi optics — it does not replace a duplex cable on a standard two-fibre SFP link.
- Mixed connectors: LC (small, latching) — fits SFP/SFP+ modules and high-density panels; SC (larger, push-pull) — common on older switches, media converters, fibre wall outlets and FTTH gear. This cable bridges the two directly, without a coupler.
- Jacket colour follows the usual convention (yellow single-mode, aqua OM3, violet OM4, lime OM5), so the cable is easy to identify later in the rack.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode SR transceivers or multimode (aqua/violet/lime) cabling — mixing single-mode and multimode fails or gives an unstable link.
- UPC (blue) ports, couplers or patch cords.
- Ports other than LC and SC (e.g. ST, MPO/MTP, FC) — use the matching cable or a suitable coupler.
- A standard two-fibre duplex SFP link — that needs a duplex cord or two simplex cables.
- It is a passive cable: it does not turn an RJ45 copper port into fibre — that needs an SFP module or a media converter.
Key Features
LSZH 2.0 mm jacket
Low smoke, zero halogen — suitable for offices, public buildings and server rooms where PVC is not wanted.
LC/APC / SC/APC
One cord links LC and SC equipment directly — no hybrid coupler in the path.
Tested, with report
Each cable is measured before shipping and the report is in the bag — handy for installation documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work with my SFP module?
Yes, if the module is single-mode (LX, LR, ER, or a single-mode BiDi) with an LC port. SR modules are multimode and need an OM3/OM4 cable instead.
Can I use it instead of a duplex cable?
Only on single-fibre links (FTTH drop, BiDi optics). A normal SFP needs two fibres — use a duplex cord.
Do I need a different length?
The same cable family is available in several lengths. Tell us the distance and the ports at both ends and we will suggest the right cord.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For fibre patch cords three things decide the order: fibre type (single-mode OS2), connectors on each end (LC/APC / SC/APC) and polish (APC). Match all three to the ports you already have and the cable simply works. Planning a new fibre uplink? See our
switches with SFP ports.
✓ Buy it if you need a 15 m OS2 simplex link between LC/APC and SC/APC ports.
✕ Skip it if your optics are SR multimode, or your ports are UPC (blue).
→ Also consider the same cord in other lengths, or the OM3/OM4 multimode version if your optics differ.
Not sure which fibre or connector you have? Send us the switch or SFP module model and we will check it before you order.
