The APC AR8136BLK is a kit of ten 1U, 19-inch modular blanking panels that snap into empty rack spaces without tools, for anyone who wants cold supply air to pass through the equipment instead of around it.
Every open U-space in a rack front is a short-cut for hot exhaust air to loop back to the server intakes. Closing those gaps is the cheapest airflow fix in a server room: inlet temperatures drop, fans slow down and the cooling unit works less. The panels are part of the APC NetShelter Airflow Management range and are designed for standard EIA-310-D 19-inch mounting rails.
Before you order: These panels mount on the front of 19-inch EIA-310-D rails with square holes, as used in APC NetShelter and most current server cabinets. If your rack has round or threaded holes, tell us the rack model before ordering.

What It Means in Practice
- One kit closes up to 10U of empty space — e.g. the gaps above and below a switch stack and between servers.
- No cage nuts or screwdriver: each panel clips into the rail holes and pulls out again when you need the space.
- Black panels blend in with black cabinets and server fronts.
- Works together with brush panels and side seals for a full hot/cold aisle separation.
What Will Not Work
- Not for cable pass-through — the panels are solid; use a brush panel where cables must cross the front.
- Front mounting only; they are not rear-door or side-gap seals.
- Not for 10-inch racks or non-EIA rails.
- Does not replace cooling capacity — it only stops warm air from short-circuiting through empty spaces.

Blanking panels are the lowest-cost item in any airflow plan and usually the first we recommend after a server room temperature survey. Fill every gap, not just the large ones — a single open 1U slot at intake height can undo the rest. For brush panels, shelves and other cabinet parts see our rack accessories.
✓ Buy it if you have a 19-inch EIA-310-D cabinet with open front U-spaces and want lower intake temperatures without tools.
✕ Skip it if cables need to pass through the gap (choose a brush panel) or your rack is 10-inch.
