The APC AP7768 is a bracket kit with adjustable front and rear rail segments that lets an APC Rack Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) be supported at the back as well as the front of a 4-post rack.
APC Rack ATS units are long, rear-heavy devices that switch a load between two power feeds. In a 2-post rack the standard front ears are enough, but in a 4-post cabinet APC specifies these adjustable rails so the unit is carried on both sets of rails. The installation guide covers both 1U and 2U Rack ATS models.
Before you order: For APC Rack Automatic Transfer Switches only (1U and 2U). It is not a general-purpose rail kit for servers, UPS units or PDUs, and it is not needed in 2-post racks.
What's in the Box

- 2 × hex nuts and 4 × washers
- 2 × pan-head screws, 4 × flat-head screws, 4 × flat-head mounting screws
What It Means in Practice
- Supports the rear of the ATS so it does not hang from the front ears alone.
- Adjustable rail segments adapt to the depth of your 4-post rack.
- A Phillips screwdriver is needed; APC recommends two people for the installation.
What Will Not Work
- Not a cord-retention or PDU mounting kit.
- Does not fit servers, UPS units or other devices.
- Not required (and not intended) for 2-post racks.
- Rail depth range and load rating are not published by APC — tell us your rack depth and we will check.
