Apple Mac mini with M5 Pro — 15-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 24GB, 512GB
M5 Pro24GB · 512GB3× Thunderbolt 52.5Gb Ethernet
The Apple Mac mini with M5 Pro (MHQN4ZD/A) is a compact desktop Mac with a 15-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine, 24GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD, built for professionals who need Pro-class performance for development, photo and video editing, design and multi-display office work in a 12.7 cm square footprint.
This is the standard M5 Pro configuration of the 2026 Mac mini. It adds Thunderbolt 5 on the back, front-facing USB-C ports and a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5Gb Ethernet, and drives up to three external displays. It is a headless desktop: you bring the monitor, keyboard and mouse, which makes it a strong fit both for a new desk setup and for replacing an older PC while keeping existing peripherals.
Before you order: Mac mini comes with no display, keyboard or mouse. Plan a monitor with HDMI or USB-C/Thunderbolt input, and a Bluetooth or USB-C keyboard and mouse.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Apple Mac mini with M5 Pro (MHQN4ZD/A)
- 1 × Power cord
- No keyboard, mouse or display included
What It Means in Practice
- 24GB of unified memory is shared by CPU and GPU, which suits large photo libraries, code builds and many open apps at once; memory cannot be upgraded later, so choose the configuration you need at purchase.
- Three Thunderbolt 5 ports (up to 120Gb/s) connect fast external SSDs, docks and displays; two front USB-C ports make it easy to plug in a drive or a phone.
- Up to three external displays — for example three 6K or 4K 165Hz screens — for multi-monitor workstations.
- 2.5Gb Ethernet is faster than standard Gigabit for NAS and file-server access; Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 cover wireless.
What Will Not Work
- There is no USB-A port and no SD card slot — older USB-A accessories need a USB-C adapter or hub.
- Windows cannot be installed via Boot Camp on Apple silicon Macs, and external GPUs (eGPU) are not supported.
- This configuration has 2.5Gb Ethernet, not 10Gb Ethernet, which is a separate factory option.
- Memory and SSD are fixed at purchase and cannot be upgraded later.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my existing monitor, keyboard and mouse?
Yes. Monitors connect via HDMI or USB-C/Thunderbolt, and any USB-C or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse work. USB-A peripherals need an adapter.
Is 24GB enough for photo and video work?
For most photo editing, software development and 4K video projects, yes. For very large 8K timelines or big local AI models, consider a configuration with more memory, since it cannot be added later.
What does 2.5GE mean?
The Ethernet port runs at up to 2.5Gb/s. It also works with ordinary Gigabit switches and routers.
Can I connect three monitors?
Yes. M5 Pro supports up to three external displays, for example three at 6K 60Hz or 4K 165Hz.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The M5 Pro Mac mini is the most cost-effective way into Pro-class Apple silicon: you get Thunderbolt 5, three-display support and 2.5GbE in a box that fits behind a monitor. Choose memory carefully because it is fixed. If you plan a multi-screen desk, browse our
PC monitors for USB-C and Thunderbolt models.
✓ Buy it if you need a compact Mac for development, creative or multi-display office work and already have, or plan to buy, a monitor and peripherals.
✕ Skip it if you need USB-A or an SD slot built in, more than three displays, or 10Gb Ethernet — look at Mac Studio.
→ Also consider Mac Studio with M5 Max for heavier video, 3D and AI workloads with more ports and displays.
