Apple MacBook Pro 16" — M5 Max (18-core CPU, 40-core GPU), 128 GB, 2 TB, Space Black
M5 Max · 40-core GPU128 GB unified memory2 TB SSD140W · Space Black
The Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch with M5 Max (Z1MZ-EN62) is a built-to-order configuration with an 18-core CPU, a 40-core GPU, 128 GB of unified memory and a 2 TB SSD, in Space Black with an English keyboard — the top memory option Apple offers on the 16-inch, aimed at video editors, 3D artists, developers and anyone running large local AI models.
128 GB is only available with the 40-core GPU M5 Max, and at 614 GB/s memory bandwidth it lets the GPU and Neural Accelerators work on very large projects — 8K timelines, big 3D scenes or multi-billion-parameter language models — without swapping to disk. The 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display reaches 1600 nits peak HDR and refreshes up to 120 Hz.
Before you order: This is a CTO (built-to-order) configuration: memory and storage are soldered and cannot be upgraded later, so choose the capacity you will need for the life of the machine. Ask us about the order lead time before you commit.
What's in the Box
- 1x Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, M5 Max, Space Black, English keyboard
- 140W USB-C Power Adapter
- USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable (2 m)
What It Means in Practice
- Edit multi-stream 8K ProRes or long HDR projects with two video encode and two ProRes engines.
- Run large language models locally — 128 GB of unified memory is shared directly with the GPU.
- Drive up to four external displays (for example four at 6K/60 Hz) alongside the built-in screen.
- Fast-charge with the supplied 140W adapter via MagSafe 3 or USB-C.
What Will Not Work
- No RAM or SSD upgrades after purchase — everything is on the chip/board.
- Windows does not run natively (no Boot Camp on Apple silicon); use virtualisation with ARM Windows or cloud apps.
- No USB-A port: older USB-A devices need an adapter or a dock.
- Some x86-only engineering or plug-in software may not run — check your critical apps for Apple silicon support.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 128 GB worth it?
Only if your work fills it: large local AI models, very big 3D scenes, or many heavy apps at once. For most video and development work 48–64 GB is enough — but memory cannot be added later.
Which keyboard layout is it?
English (EN) layout as ordered. Greek characters are available through the macOS keyboard settings; the keycaps themselves show the English layout.
Can I connect four monitors?
Yes. M5 Max supports up to four external displays over Thunderbolt and HDMI, plus the built-in display.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
With a top configuration like this, the real decision is memory: 128 GB on the 40-core GPU is what makes a laptop capable of running large AI models and huge media projects without compromise. Because nothing can be upgraded later, buy it for where your workload will be in three years. Pair it with one of our Thunderbolt
docking stations for a one-cable desk setup.
✓ Buy it if you work with 8K video, large 3D scenes or local AI models and need the maximum memory Apple offers in a laptop.
✕ Skip it if your work fits in 36–64 GB — an M5 Max or M5 Pro with less memory saves a lot.
→ Also consider MacBook Pro 16" M5 Max with 48 or 64 GB, or the 14-inch M5 Max for more portability.
