ARCTIC Fan Controller — 10-Port PWM Hub with Individual Channel Regulation

10× 4-pin PWM outputsIndependent speed per channelSATA power + USB 2.0 header86 × 55 × 14 mm

The ARCTIC Fan Controller (ACFAN00351A) is a 10-port PWM fan hub that gives every port its own independent speed, rather than passing one shared curve to all of them the way a passive splitter does. It draws power from a SATA connector and takes its instructions over an internal USB 2.0 header, so control lives in software on the PC: ARCTIC names SignalRGB, Fan Control, Libre Hardware Monitor and HWinfo as compatible. Each port supplies up to 2 A, with 4.5 A available in total, and the whole unit is 86 × 55 × 14 mm and 59 g. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
⚠ You need both a free internal USB 2.0 (9-pin) header and a spare SATA power connector. Without the USB header the controller cannot be addressed at all — check your motherboard before ordering. It does not connect to a motherboard 4-pin fan header, which is what distinguishes it from ARCTIC’s passive Case Fan Hub. Control is software only: there is no knob, no button and no remote, and ARCTIC states it is fully compatible with Windows. ⚠ It does no RGB. SignalRGB appears in ARCTIC’s compatibility list as a piece of fan-control software, not as an RGB feature — the controller has no A-RGB input or output of any kind. ARCTIC also warns that hot swapping is not supported: power the machine off before installing it.

Best For

✓ Cases with more fans than the motherboard has headers
✓ Builds that want a different curve on intake, exhaust and radiator
✓ Water-cooling loops with several fan groups
✓ Systems tuned through Fan Control or HWinfo
✓ Replacing a nest of Y-splitters with one tidy hub
✓ Workstations where fan noise is managed per zone

Key Features

Ten ports, ten independent speeds
Unlike a passive splitter that copies one PWM signal to every fan, this controller regulates each of its ten channels separately, so intake, exhaust and radiator fans can each follow their own curve from a single device.

Software control over internal USB
The controller takes its instructions over an internal USB 2.0 header, and ARCTIC names SignalRGB, Fan Control, Libre Hardware Monitor and HWinfo as compatible tools. It defaults to a 40% duty cycle at startup, before the software loads and takes over.

2 A per port, 4.5 A in total
Each of the ten 4-pin PWM sockets supplies up to 2 A, drawn from a single SATA power connector rated at 4.5 A in total. That is the figure to budget against when planning a lot of high-current fans.

Small, flat and easy to place
At 86 × 55 × 14 mm and 59 g it hides behind a motherboard tray or under a shroud, and ARCTIC supplies two mounting pads — one for steel surfaces and one for non-steel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this controller do RGB?
No. It is a PWM fan controller with ten fan ports and nothing else — ARCTIC documents no ARGB or RGB input, output or LED count. SignalRGB appears in its compatibility list because SignalRGB also controls fan speeds, not because the controller drives lighting. If you want addressable lighting sync, this is the wrong product.
What is the difference between this and the ARCTIC Case Fan Hub?
The Case Fan Hub (ACFAN00175A) is a passive splitter: it takes one PWM signal from a motherboard fan header and passes it synchronously to all ten ports at 1 A each, so every fan runs the same curve. This Fan Controller connects over USB instead, regulates each of its ten ports independently and supplies 2 A per port. Choose the hub if one shared curve is fine, and this if you want zones.
Can I control it without software?
No. There is no physical knob, button or remote, and no motherboard-header fallback. Control lives entirely in Windows software over the internal USB connection. On boot, before the software loads, the controller runs all ports at a 40% duty cycle.
What do I need to know before buying the ARCTIC Fan Controller?
Four things. It needs a free internal USB 2.0 header and a spare SATA power lead. It is software-controlled only. It has no RGB function. And the current budget is 2 A per port with 4.5 A total, which a set of high-current thick fans can reach well before ten of them are connected.
Singular Expert Insight
The useful distinction here is between a hub and a controller, and ARCTIC sells both. Its Case Fan Hub is a splitter: one PWM signal in from a motherboard header, the same signal out to ten fans. This Fan Controller is a different device — it talks to the PC over USB and drives each of its ten channels at its own speed, which is what you want when the front intake, the top exhaust and a radiator all deserve different curves. The trade is that it is software-only: no knob, no header fallback, and nothing to adjust from BIOS. If the machine boots without the control software, every port sits at 40%. Two things not to believe from listings. It does not do RGB — SignalRGB is on ARCTIC’s list as fan-control software, and that single word has produced a lot of wrong descriptions. And it is not the Case Fan Hub under a new name: different input, different per-port current, different part number. ARCTIC publishes current but not wattage, and publishes no text list of box contents or cable lengths, so we have marked those as unpublished rather than guessing. If you are planning the cooling around it, our CPU coolers and power supplies pages cover the rest of the build.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

Your case has more fans than your motherboard has headers, and you want each of them — or each group of them — on its own curve rather than one shared signal, controlled from Windows software, with a spare internal USB header and SATA lead available.

Skip it if

You want a physical knob or a controller that works without software, your motherboard has no free internal USB 2.0 header, or you were looking for ARGB lighting control — this device has none. If one shared fan curve is all you need, ARCTIC’s cheaper passive Case Fan Hub does that job.

Also consider

ARCTIC Case Fan Hub (ACFAN00175A) as the cheaper passive alternative when one shared curve is enough; ARCTIC BioniX P12 and P14 A-RGB fans to connect to it; or an ARGB controller if lighting sync is what you actually need, since this controller does none.
