ARCTIC Freezer 8A Compact CPU Cooler
AMD AM5/AM42 direct-touch heatpipes100mm PWM fanMX-6 pre-applied
The ARCTIC Freezer 8A (ACFRE00161A) is a compact single-tower air cooler for AMD AM5 and AM4 desktops. Two direct-touch copper heatpipes and a 100mm PWM fan deliver quiet, effective cooling for mainstream and low-power Ryzen CPUs, while pre-applied ARCTIC MX-6 paste means it is ready to mount straight from the box. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Fits AMD AM5 and AM4 only — not compatible with Intel sockets. Its compact 136mm height and 83mm depth clear most cases, including many small builds. Designed for mainstream and low-power CPUs rather than high-wattage overclocking; check case clearance before buying.
Best For
✓Compact AMD AM5 and AM4 builds
✓Low-power and mainstream Ryzen CPUs
✓Upgrading from the AMD boxed cooler
✓Quiet everyday and semi-passive use
✓Small cases needing a short tower
✓Ready-to-mount installs (paste pre-applied)
Key Features
Two Direct-Touch Heatpipes
Two 6mm copper heatpipes contact the CPU directly and run through a 46-fin aluminium stack, giving genuine tower-style heat transfer in a compact footprint.
Quiet 100mm PWM Fan
The 100mm fan runs from 200 to 2300rpm and stops completely below 5% PWM, so the cooler can run near-silently at idle and light loads.
Pre-Applied MX-6 Paste
ARCTIC's high-performance MX-6 thermal paste is applied to the base at the factory, so there is no separate paste step during installation.
Compact, Case-Friendly Size
At just 136mm tall and 83mm deep, the Freezer 8A slots into compact and mid-tower cases where a full-size tower would not fit.

Singular Expert Insight
The Freezer 8A brings real heatpipe-tower cooling to compact AMD builds, pairing a quiet 0-rpm-capable fan with pre-applied MX-6 paste and a 6-year guarantee for a genuinely fuss-free install. It is a smart compact pick in the CPU cooler range; the Freezer 8i is its Intel twin, and every build benefits from matching the cooler to a dependable power supply.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You have a mainstream or low-power AMD AM5/AM4 CPU and want a quiet, compact heatpipe tower with pre-applied paste and a long guarantee.
Skip it if
You run a high-wattage or overclocked Ryzen CPU that needs a full-size dual-tower or liquid cooler for maximum headroom.
Also consider
ARCTIC Freezer 8A CO with a dual ball bearing for 24/7 use, or the Xilence A402 as a lower-cost AM5/AM4 tower.
