Give your M.2 SSD a portable home
USB-C 20GbpsNVMe & SATATool-freeAura RGB
The black ROG Strix Aiolos is an empty external enclosure, not a ready-made SSD. Add your own compatible M.2 NVMe PCIe or SATA drive, close the tool-free housing and connect the included USB-C cable to use it as portable storage for files, backups or a game library. Your installed SSD determines capacity; no SSD is supplied.
Before you order:
Choose an M.2 drive in 2242, 2260 or 2280 size. The 20Gbps interface ceiling requires a compatible USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 host; USB-C describes the connector and does not guarantee that speed.
What's in the Box
- ROG Strix Aiolos enclosure
- USB-C to USB-C cable
- Quick installation guide and user manual
- Exclusive metal hook with fabric tag
What It Means in Practice
- Reuse a compatible spare SSD for a portable project or backup drive.
- Push to open the case, fit the SSD, close it and attach the USB-C cable; prepare or format a new drive in your operating system before storing files.
- Actual transfer rates depend on the drive, host port, files and system configuration.
What Will Not Work
- It does not provide storage without a separately purchased compatible SSD.
- It is designed for the listed M.2 formats, not a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive.
- A slower host connection or SATA SSD will not deliver the full interface ceiling.
Key Features
Dual SSD interface support
Use a compatible M.2 NVMe PCIe or SATA SSD in the supported sizes. This makes the enclosure useful when reusing a drive from another system.
Cooling and convenient access
The thermal pad and heat-resistant liquid-silicone-rubber coating form a dual-layer cooling design. Push-to-open access simplifies drive installation and removal.
Lighting, monitoring and carrying
Aura Creator adjusts the ROG Aura RGB effects, while the ROG SSD Dashboard provides a real-time overview of drive status and performance. The metal hook and fabric tag aid carrying.
