The ASUS TUF GAMING B850M-PLUS WIFI7 W is the white version of ASUS’s micro ATX B850 board for Socket AM5, and it is unusually well equipped for its size: three M.2 slots, four DDR5 slots, Wi-Fi 7 and a Realtek ALC1220P audio codec. This is the W (white) variant — the same board as the standard TUF GAMING B850M-PLUS WIFI7 but in white. Expansion beyond the graphics slot is a single PCIe 4.0 x1 slot, so there is no room for a capture card or an HBA that needs x4. PCIe 5.0 on the x16 slot and on M.2_1 requires a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series processor; with Ryzen 8000 Series chips the graphics slot runs PCIe 4.0 at x8 or x4 and M.2_1 drops to PCIe 4.0. Wi-Fi 7 needs Windows 11 24H2 or later for full functionality — on Windows 11 21H2 to 23H2 it operates as Wi-Fi 6E, and on Windows 10 only the Realtek RTL8922AE module has a driver (the MediaTek MT7925 has none). The actual Wi-Fi module fitted varies, so check the label on the board. The board takes two 8-pin CPU power connectors, so your power supply needs both EPS cables for a high-end CPU.
