The ROG Crosshair VIII Impact is ASUS's flagship small-form-factor X570 motherboard — a Mini-DTX board (slightly taller than Mini-ITX) that exploits the unused space below the GPU slot in most ITX cases to deliver features normally reserved for ATX. Dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots ride on a bundled SO-DIMM.2 expansion card with its own heatsink, an active VRM/chipset heatsink keeps temperatures down for serious overclocking, and the IMPACT Control Card IV brings BIOS FlashBack, Q-Code, Clear CMOS and FlexKey to the rear I/O. SupremeFX audio with an ESS SABRE9023P DAC, Wi-Fi 6, USB-C Gen 2 and an extensive water-cooling header layout round out a uniquely capable enthusiast SFF platform.
Compatibility Note: Socket AM4 — supports Ryzen 5000, 4000 G-series, 3000, 3000 G-series, 2000 and 2000 G-series desktop processors. A BIOS update may be required for newer CPUs; the rear-panel BIOS FlashBack feature lets you flash the BIOS without a CPU or memory installed. Mini-DTX is taller than Mini-ITX (170 × 203 mm vs 170 × 170 mm) — verify your case supports DTX boards before ordering. Note: the included SO-DIMM.2 card is tall and may conflict with some low-profile coolers and tight ITX enclosures.
