5-Port 2.5G Multi-Gigabit Unmanaged Switch
5× 2.5GbE RJ45UnmanagedFanless25 GbpsMetal Case
The Asustor ASW205T brings full multi-gigabit speed to a small network in one silent, unmanaged switch — a natural companion to a 2.5GbE NAS. All five RJ45 ports run at 2.5Gbps and auto-negotiate down to 1G and 100M, so your NAS, gaming PC, workstation and Wi-Fi 6 access point each get 2.5× the throughput of an ordinary Gigabit switch over the Cat5e/Cat6 cabling you already have. Housed in a fanless metal case, it runs completely silently on any desk or shelf.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Fully backward compatible with existing Gigabit and Fast Ethernet gear. Each port auto-detects link speed and cable type (Auto-MDI/MDI-X), so any standard Ethernet device connects with no configuration. Ideal alongside Asustor and other 2.5GbE NAS units.
Best For
✓ Fast file transfers to a 2.5GbE NAS
✓ Upgrading a small network from Gigabit to 2.5G
✓ Feeding Wi-Fi 6/6E access points beyond 1Gbps
✓ Silent, fanless switching on a desk or shelf
Key Features
Five 2.5GbE Multi-Gig Ports
Every port delivers 2.5Gbps and auto-negotiates to 1G/100M, giving 2.5× the bandwidth of a Gigabit switch over your existing copper cabling.
Built for NAS Speed
Designed as a companion to 2.5GbE NAS units, it removes the Gigabit bottleneck so backups and media streams move at full multi-gig speed.
Fanless Silent Metal Build
A sturdy metal chassis with passive cooling means completely silent operation, ideal for living rooms, studios and quiet offices.
True Plug-and-Play
Fully unmanaged with auto-negotiation, Auto-MDI/MDI-X and store-and-forward switching — no software, no VLANs and no configuration required.

Singular Expert Insight
The ASW205T exists for one clear reason: to unlock the 2.5GbE port on a modern NAS. Because all five ports are multi-gig, there is no fast-versus-slow planning — the NAS, your PC and an access point all connect at 2.5G. It is a simple, silent upgrade for a home lab or small office that has moved past Gigabit. If you need PoE or a 10G uplink, compare the wider range of network switches, and find 2.5G adapters and cabling in our full networking range.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You want to unlock 2.5G speed on a NAS and lift a small network past Gigabit in one step, with silent fanless operation, a durable metal case and zero configuration.
Skip it if
You need Power over Ethernet, an SFP/SFP+ fibre uplink, or managed features such as VLANs and QoS — this is an unmanaged, copper-only, non-PoE switch.
Also consider
Pair it with a 2.5GbE NAS or 2.5G USB/PCIe adapters to use the full speed, and consider a model with a 10G SFP+ uplink if you later need a faster backbone.
