ATEN UCE60 USB Extender — Place a USB Keyboard, Mouse or Scanner up to 60 m From the PC
Up to 60 mCat5e / Cat612 Mb/s full speedBus powered
The ATEN UCE60 is a USB extender kit that carries a USB connection up to 60 m over a single Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable, for placing low-speed USB devices — keyboards, mice, barcode scanners, card readers, simple HID or serial adapters — far away from the computer.
The local unit plugs into the PC with an attached 30 cm USB cable; the remote unit gives one USB-A port at the far end. It is bus-powered, needs no software, and works with Windows and Mac.
Before you order: Speed is USB full speed (12 Mb/s) and low speed (1.5 Mb/s) only — NOT USB 2.0 high speed (480 Mb/s). Webcams, storage, audio interfaces and most printers will not work properly through it.
What's in the Box
- 1 × ATEN UCE60 local unit with attached USB cable
- 1 × ATEN UCE60 remote unit
- Ethernet cable not included
What It Means in Practice
- Put the PC in a server room and the keyboard, mouse or scanner at a counter or kiosk.
- Use any existing Cat5e/Cat6 run up to 60 m — no USB repeaters chained together.
- No drivers: the PC sees the USB device directly.
- An LED shows when the remote side needs extra power (optional DC jack).
What Will Not Work
- It will not run USB 2.0 high-speed or USB 3.x devices at speed (webcams, drives, audio interfaces).
- It is not an Ethernet device — do not plug either unit into a network switch.
- It will not exceed 60 m.
- A power adapter for the remote unit is not included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The UCE60 is the inexpensive answer for keyboards, mice and scanners far from the PC; it is not a general USB 2.0 extender. For the link itself, any good Cat5e/Cat6 cables run up to 60 m will do.
✓ Buy it if you need a keyboard, mouse, scanner or other full-speed USB device up to 60 m from the PC.
✕ Skip it if you need high-speed USB 2.0 or USB 3.x (cameras, drives, audio).
→ Also consider A USB 2.0 high-speed extender if your device needs 480 Mb/s.
