AXIS Door Switch A — tamper alarm
Tamper alarmI/O connectionCabinets & housingsAXIS accessory
The AXIS Door Switch A (part number 5503-841) is a door switch that protects an AXIS cabinet or housing against intrusion. It connects to the I/O port of the camera or I/O module inside, and if the door is opened or the unit is tampered with, the system raises an alarm. AXIS lists it for the T98A15-VE to T98A18-VE Surveillance Cabinets, the T93F10 and T93F20 Outdoor Housings and the A9188-VE Network I/O Relay Module. In practice it turns a physical attempt on the enclosure into an event you see in your video management system.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Needs a free I/O input on the camera or I/O module — the switch does not raise an alarm on its own. AXIS does not publish the cable length, contact type or ratings on its product page. It is designed for the listed AXIS cabinets and housings. Not sure? Tell us your model and we check it for you.

Singular Expert Insight
On remote sites we add a door switch to every outdoor cabinet: an opened door is often the first sign of vandalism. Map the I/O input to an event in your VMS so it is not missed. See our IP cameras.
