The AXIS F2115-R Varifocal Sensor (part 02639-001) is a small cylindrical sensor unit for the Axis F-series modular camera system: the sensor sits where the image is needed, and the main unit with recording and network connection is installed out of sight up to 30 m away. It suits ATMs, vending machines, buses, emergency vehicles and other tight or discreet installations, and it can be installed behind glass or inside equipment.
It has a 1/2.8" progressive-scan RGB CMOS sensor and a 3.2–5.7 mm varifocal M12 lens, giving a horizontal field of view from 107.4° to 56.3° at 1080p. Depending on the main unit it streams up to 1080p at 60/50 fps or 720p at up to 180 fps. The SMA-FAKRA connector is made to withstand vibration in vehicles.
Before you order: The sensor only works with an AXIS F-series main unit: F9111, F9114, F9114-B, F9104-B or their Mk II versions. The sensor cable (AXIS TU6004-E, TU6005 plenum or TU6007-E, up to 30 m) is not included.

What It Means in Practice
- Install the sensor in a counter, kiosk or vehicle and run the cable to the main unit in a cabinet; only the 29.8 mm sensor is visible.
- Set the field of view at installation with the varifocal lens: wide (107°) for a whole area, narrower (56°) for a counter or door.
- There is no built-in IR, so it needs ambient or added lighting at night (minimum illumination 0.1 lux colour).
- Rated IP50 — for indoor or protected locations; use an Axis housing for more exposed positions.
What Will Not Work
- It is not a stand-alone camera — no network port; a compatible F-series main unit is required.
- The sensor cable is sold separately.
- It has no IR illumination and will not see in complete darkness.
- IP50 is not suitable for direct outdoor exposure.
