AXIS P1388 — Indoor 4K box camera with lens

4K up to 60 fps1/1.8" sensor3.9–10 mm lens includedPoE or 10–28 V DC

The AXIS P1388 (02737-001) is the 4K member of the indoor P13 box family: an 8 MP 1/1.8" sensor with a replaceable 3.9–10 mm CS-mount lens in the box, covering 122° down to 46°. It runs up to 50/60 fps without WDR and powers from one PoE Class 3 port or 10–28 V DC.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Indoor box camera. It has no environmental (IP/IK) rating — outdoors it needs a separate Axis housing, or order the outdoor version instead. There is no built-in IR, so a dark scene needs lighting or an external IR illuminator. A table/wall stand is in the box; wall or ceiling brackets are not. Not sure it fits your site? Send us the mounting position, distance to the target and how the camera is powered, and we check it before you order.

Best For

✓ Receptions, lobbies and cash desks
✓ Behind glass: shop windows and counters
✓ Warehouses and production halls (indoor)
✓ Integrations with access control or alarms
✓ Projects that may need a different lens later
✓ Axis Camera Station or ONVIF VMS installs

Key Features

4K on a large 1/1.8" sensor
3840×2160 at up to 50/60 fps (25/30 fps with WDR). The bigger sensor keeps colour down to 0.13 lux at 4K, and the 3.9–10 mm lens covers 122°–46°.

Replaceable CS-mount optics
The supplied lens is CS-mount and replaceable: swap it for a longer lens or a fast F0.9 low-light lens later if the scene changes. P-Iris keeps depth of field and exposure under control.

AI analytics and Lightfinder 2.0
AXIS Object Analytics classifies people and vehicles, with Scene Metadata, Image Health Analytics, Live Privacy Shield and Video Motion Detection included. Forensic WDR (up to 120 dB) and Lightfinder 2.0 handle backlight and low light.

Built for integration
Two alarm inputs, two outputs, RS485/RS422, audio input, PoE or 10–28 V DC power and Axis Edge Vault security make it easy to tie into access control, barriers or PTZ-style workflows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the lens included?
Yes, 02737-001 includes the 3.9–10 mm F1.5 lens and a stand. The P1388-B is the lens-less indoor version and the P1388-BE (02904-001) is the lens-less outdoor version — easy to mix up.
P1388 or P1387?
The P1388 gives 4K on a larger sensor with a wide 122°–46° lens. The P1387 (02735-001) is 5 MP but its lens zooms further, to 24°.
What else do I need to get it recording?
A PoE switch or injector that can deliver PoE Class 3 (max 12.13 W), a network cable, and something to record to — a microSD card in the camera for edge recording, an Axis Camera Station or ONVIF-compatible VMS/NVR, or a NAS. None of these are in the box. Tell us how many cameras and how many days of footage you need and we size the switch and storage with you.
What warranty and support do I get in Cyprus?
Singular gives a direct 1-year warranty and handles the first contact locally in Limassol. Axis publishes a 5-year warranty on this model, and for the remaining years we assist you with the Axis process. Configuration questions (streams, analytics, VMS integration) can come straight to us.
Singular Expert Insight
The P1388 is the pick when you want the most detail from a wide indoor scene; for reach, the P1387 (02735-001) zooms further. For outdoor 4K, the barebone P1388-BE (02904-001) takes the lens you choose. For the rest of the system, our PoE switches are listed with per-port power budgets, and surveillance hard drives cover NVR recording; other options are in IP cameras.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want indoor 4K on a large sensor with a replaceable 122°–46° lens, alarm I/O, RS485 and a built-in mic, on PoE Class 3 or DC.

Skip it if

You need a long zoom (46° is its narrowest), outdoor use without a housing, or built-in IR.

Also consider

AXIS P1387 (02735-001) for longer reach; AXIS P1388-BE (02904-001) for outdoor 4K.
